"Rogers Park was once a nice neighborhood" Really? I'm 50, grew up in Chicago, and can't ever remember a time when Rogers Park was "nice". It's always been one one of the, if not the, sketchiest part of the north side.

@@krnpowr I’m 73, grew up on the northwest side of Chicago and remember a time when Rogers Park and much of the south side consisted of middle class, nice, functional neighborhoods with good schools and safe streets. The beginning of the end was in the late sixties when the government mandated push for integration began. The loss of community meant the loss of trust. No trust means no cohesion. No cohesion is the beginning of the end of a society since there’s no longer the glue to keep it intact. Could it be that the reason why America is so rapidly unraveling externally is because it no longer exists as a country internally?

Another main difference same ball park is we knew if we got caught the chances of getting sent to jail was high.
