Amazing lead !! Does not get enough credit. He was super smooth with changes and solos and with Christopher it was magic. They played on two totally different planets . To the point where you would think it would fall apart but it was amazing !! Melon was a very tight band !
Blind Melon was then and now my favorite band. No rain was good song but dear God every song on self titled and soup was awe inspiring. Nico was good as well…. self titled was great but soup to me was a complete masterpiece. Truly a must listen from start to finish. I’d compare it to the wall or even Tommy… story telling albums that can only be appreciated by listening to them from start to finish. I miss Shannon
Walk , change, tones of home , st andrews fall , paper scratcher ... Both albums front to back (1st song to last) . Those albums are polar opposites but soup is a masterpiece!!! Its unreal !!
13:25 "I don't think I'm in the E Major scale, but I don't know what scale I'm in." WHAT!?... I told myself that the guy who played those descending pentatonic triplets would be able to explain WHY they sounded so good. The pentatonic scale he uses is the D Major (B minor) pentatonic scale, and it sounds perfect. Just like the rest of the solo, he stays in the Mixolydian mode when he plays the descending triplets, but those five notes E, F#, A, B, D are an unconventional choice.
