There are different types of chrome. Hard matte chroming like they use on the inside of rifle barrels, has way different properties than fancy chrome plating.
@@AMRAP sorry I guess you mean use weights that are machined metal or with a machined metal insert (bumper and/or rubber/urethane) and not unfinished raw cast metal, which can leave ridges. Sorry for the flippant response and thanks for the review!
@As Many Reviews As Possible You mention that using bumpers should help with the sleeves, you seem to be only lifting with bumpers so did they give those scratches? I also have rogue competition bumpers so wondering, thx!
@@AMRAP thanks man! I watched other videos and read lots of reviews, seems like knurling is not as aggressive as people like even with the thin layer of cerakote dulls it. They all recommend the stainless steel one. How do you like the knurling? I do powerlifting.
@@maximusstrength157 I actually think the knurling is plenty grippy - but if you want a slightly more aggressive cut then yeah I would recommend SS. I think colored bars are cooler though so I’d go cerakote.
I am either going to purchase THE OHIO BAR - CERAKOTE, or THE CERAKOTE CALIFORNIA BAR. Tough call. Still do not know. The CERAKOTE CALIFORNIA BAR gives 10% off for signing up so would cost $330.50 includes shipping and and tax. The THE OHIO BAR - CERAKOTE with shipping and tax cost $388.37 But I do like the Black sleeve vs chrome on THE OHIO BAR - CERAKOTE,. Plus I do like the name decal on THE OHIO BAR - CERAKOTE. If I can not make up my mind I will wait. Maybe buy neither. I am currently using the REP Gladiator WL Bearing Bar. Which is the best bar I have ever used and cost $304 including shipping and tax. But I am looking for another bar for doing Bench, Squatt, Deads, Cleans. Which one would you buy?
If you already have the Gladiator, you should probably go for the Ohio bar. You would use the California bar pretty similarly to how you use the Gladiator since they’re both 28mm. The Ohio would at least be better for pressing and squats.
3r123 thanks so much for the fast reply! Gonna go buy one today since it’s most likely gonna be months before they open gyms where I’m at. Long live the gainZzz lol 💪🏽
phammaster got mine about 2 weeks ago and it’s stable for everything! I’ve had an issue when I was training at golds gym doing incline bench and the bar spun too much and slipped out of my hands for a hard landing on my chest lol didn’t know at the time that bars can have more whip. Cheers to the GainZzz 💪🏽
Carson Kato on low bar squat yes. If you buy a pad or high bar squat then no. Would recommend the rogue squat or power bar for squat. Ohio bar is perfect for cleans
Cash grab!!! :)) Do agree. Other than a bare steel bar the only finish I would opt for is SS. But that's just for less bar maintanance. If you take care of your bars regularly then there isn't any pint in the SS bars either. :) You only buy a Cerakote bar for looks. :) To "dress up" your home gyms. :) Hence the theme bars...like the THOR Cerakote bar, Froning, Bella...etc.It's like what Porsche is doing with their 911 product line. They have 23 versions. :)) Who does that?? :) If you're a serious powerlifter buy a DL bar if you NEED to train at home and not at a gym. Same goes for those seriously into WL. :)
