I dont think this was said in the video, but redirect will also transfer any bandits guile stacks you had on the previous target if you are a combat rogue.
@@WillEmmo How does this affect your evaluation of the combat rogue? I take it it makes combat a bit more viable in PvE, but still not as much as assassination?
@@PoorWax Allow me to step in. This changes next to nothing. To be absolutely real bandits guile is a terrible talent and works directly against the restless blades talent. You arent going to use a big CD without having that 30% damage buff from bandits meaning they can practically cancel each other out if youre unlucky. The combat tree in general is really poorly designed. They tried to make it a decent pvp specc and it still doenst compare to sub. Yet the shitty pvp centric talents that are completely wasted in a pve context remain. Really sad to see imo.
0:55 It will be in MoP Challenge Modes, for sure. Also helpful in early Cata Heroics, iirc - provided they're tuned anywhere close to the original difficulty.
I mained rogue in Wrath because I remember the good ole days of ArP (played hunt in OG wrath) and wanted to experience its full potential on a melee class. It was a LOT of fun, however Ive gotta re-roll now because I know there's going to be a lot of fotm legendary chasers and can't be asked to fight for a raid spot lol. Thinking Ele, Mage or Arms war this go around
It’s the least played class in the game atm, I don’t think people care THAT much about a last patch legendary. Personally don’t think it will be that much of an issue
combat and assa is really not that fun to play, its only one spec and that sub. And sub is to difficukt to master for the majority of the players who mostly play pve.
Hearing the words "Killing Spree" brings back memories of nostalgia. Combat rogue was always my favorite. I remember getting the enchantment "Dancing Steel" and mixing it with "Spree". I would just go around taking out any low on health enemies I see.
I skipped out on rogue in LK for pvp and regretted it in the end (was my main back in the day) so looking forward to potentially seeing what it's all about soon! When it comes to the tier set looks the first is okay but a little gaudy for my tastes as a rogue, the second one is great I think it's easily the best of the bunch (it's got flair and has that edgy aggressive rogue look) buuuut the third one looks very lackluster imo...not sure what they were thinking with that helm
Rogue is by far the best melee spec. In our Cata raids, I was the only Rogue, topping dps on every DS boss apart from Hagara. All specs are also viable. Combat has the best cleave, Assa is solid through all of Cata and Sub is the bursty, high ceiling spec with plenty to do. The moment I swapped from Assa to Sub for Spine, we managed to down it on first try, with me doing over 2 mil HP to the tendrils, which is required to one rotation them. Also, legendary daggers, but for Combat, you can use two of the Axes dropping from Madness for Killing Spree. Rogues ate good in Cata
I solely play PvE, and really like the class idea of the combat rogue, but this video is making me consider going assassination, due to it seemingly being outperformed on single-target fights. How much difference in performance is there really between the two specs? I have a hard time deciding.
@@mikedavid1945 I think generally you want to go combat/assa in pve. BUT... sub can suprise in some raids/dung for insane singeltarget dmg, it requries a high skill cap to play tho, and understanding you abilities. Sub rogue is prob the hardest spec in cata overall to master because you really dont have a rotation like other specs, Its a active and reactive playstyle.
Wish I could say this intrigues me to play but I highly doubt I'm going to get WoW time to play. Was a Shammy in Cata but pretty much quit in heroic FL.(did a little raid finder in Dragon Soul kek) Turned to a Rogue main with Classic and don't think I'd change classes again just for the nostalgia hit. Don't have a guild either since TBC. TBC really killed my vibe for the game when it was IEA or no beuno. You see decent changes and think hey maybe I'll try it. Then you remember the community and how the game is covered in GDKPS/RMT and then it's a oh yea nty. Way to behind to even try.
History speaking as someone who was in a top 100 guild and did the entire expansion assassination and combat are strong competitive with eachother in the begining and in fire lands assassination starts dropping off sub starts picking up (speed clears namely ) then in dragon its combat or sub if your speed clearing , the changes to combat are massive compared to assassination, being able to reduce killing spree and adrenaline rush 10 seconds every finisher is massive with energy even and. I stand 20% haste buffs and spam hits it crushes, keeping rupture up I. Combat is only a 2-4% dps increase to so you may do more dmg with just eviscerate so you have an easier rotation depending on skill level people sleeping on combat, saw combat back in the day competing with fire mages and arms warriors in the s tier where as assassination was b tier at best, sub being godmode in speed clears with skilled players
@@intenzityd3181 yea sub gets better than assassination starting in firelands but it is the most difficult rotation so you have to be Johnny on the spot to make it work, gear makes it a little easier later but combat and sub out perform assass completely in dragon soul
The prepatch is here and I encounter a big issue with rupture. Almost any time I want to refresh my rupture, I can't because a more powerful debuff is on. So I have to wait until it falls off before rupture again... Is it a bug that needs to be fixed or is it the way it works on Cata?
That's what I was waiting for, more respect for rogues at any time, as well as waiting for you to mention this class. Well, let's hope that my Assasination doesn't fail me, it is my favorite spec in pve, and it would be useless if I couldn't use it as a double spec next to my pvp subtlely. Thanks, and I see that there is some good start in the cataclysm. And by the way, what is the main stat that the rogue has to focus on gems now?
Hi, I've played a hardcore rogue to 60 on the official sever and never play Cataclysm before. What spec should I choose if I'm mostly focused on questing😀?
@@cristhianmlr Yea I was trying to make a little joke sorry. I seen them a lot too. They just here to help boost the activity. I would be careful with anything on social media with this company. They know how much it matters to look good. It's all over the internet but it's a very noticeable issue with blizz. Should check out some of the patents they have. I'm sure it would blow your mind.
Recuperate is by far the most broken ability to ever be in wow.. at least from the expansions that i played. If the rogue is losing he just pops recup and vanishes to reset. A 5 point recup restores 90% of their health in 30 seconds when they are stealthed.
It restores 3% health every 3 seconds baseline and 5 point combo only lasts 30 seconds. 30/3=10. 10 ticks of 3% health is only 30%, 40% if you have the talent for it. Maybe you can get an extra 10% further with more healing received talents but you're still maxed at 50% health over 30 seconds. Nothing to scoff at but also not nearly as OP as you're making it out to be. Dark simulacrum from DK is probably a bit more busted or symbiosis from druid.
its a skill issue. Rogues in general was very all in or die. thats why they introdused smoke bomb in cata, if you payed any attantion in cata you prob should now that rogues was countered by casters, only a few good sub rogues was able to master the class and used every tool they have to win in arena.
@@helloitsme9024 Thug is SS tier all throughout cata. It was in all the tournaments as well. It's broken..Also, you should learn to spell before you go about trying to insult people it makes you look dumb.
Forgot to highlight enough the legendary daggers, they have a proc that enables you to spam eviscerate or envenom for free for 6 second dealing full 5 combo point damage. And the questline to get the daggers is one of the funnest things I've personally ever done in WoW. In Cata, Rogue is king.
I am not sure but isn't it worth actually not hitting poison hit cap for combat and instead hitting the 8% hit cap and then going haste/mastery? Obviously if you get more hit that's fine but I don't think the 17% is required anymore.
The mental bs they kept giving Rogues for pvp xpac after xpac... really hope who ever actually was in charge of those decisions does not make any further gaming decisions, anywhere, ever.
In general its asbolutely redicilous blizzard regulated the game during this time to allow every class to be played somewhat equally, yet they still added class specific legandery items.. like yea, i am sure the classes without any legandery items will perform equal to the classes who did get one lmao. But yea, every class must be able to do everything and no one should be left behind and if an ability is overpowered or fun instant nerfs because balance. However, here is a legandery specifically made for 1 single class that boosts that specific class over any other class by a mile
so basically Rogue doesnt bring any real utility or unique buffs to the raid, also the damage is mediocre (until legendary daggers). TBH looks like the most boring class to play in Cata
Still using dumb titles I see. "Was it any good though" does not work how you're using it. Stay in school and learn more about the English language please.
Il have a question for assassination rogue. Does the mastery also increases the damage from envenom (since it's poison damage) and also from the venomous wound damage effect ? Thx for the great video !
Assassination is by far the easiest rogue spec hands down. Combat is also easy but harder than assassination and sub is by far the hardest spec in the game to maximize
