I think simonize out of all these channels is the absolute best, his videos I genuinely always learn from. I've been playing some other classes (we all know how hard finding groups is as a rogue) and there isn't nearly as much information content out there that is actually helpful and isn't just blatantly ripped information from those sites like icy veins
Even though I'm watching this during phase 4, it's really insightful. So many different guides and information out there talk about what you want to do, but don't go into how things actually work. 10 out of 10

Hi Simon, thanks very much for the fantastic content (as always). I had a quick question around SnD as part of the rotation. If there is not a meaningful difference for the sustained rotation, would it be more beneficial to swap out of imp SnD to gain 2/2 Murder + extra point in Lethality, or some variation (noting mechanical mobs not affected by Murder)? Happy to hear your views.~N
@@BestestLOL Yes, it will use Instant Poison R1 or Deadly R1 if you haven't bothered to learn R2, R3 etc. It won't automatically Jump to the highest rank it can until you personally have learned it. Just spend 5 minutes at the poison vendor crafting to skill up to learn them and it's np.
thanks Simon i been waiting for this one one thing for rogues who also want to pvp with the raid build l, only take 2/5 imp poisons and 2/3 imp slice which lets you take 5/5 lethality and 2/2 murder not many people can survive the stunlock
Does this mean even if we have 4 points we mut again to get 5 before we use envenom? Seems like alot of lost uptime of envenom rather than just dumping with 4 and not wasting a combo point.
So one more time, those ten talent points for the poisons in the assassination tree are better than improved backstab crits more frequently? What about the extra hit too you can grab? My current build I only go up to lethality in assassination, the regen 1 talent point, imp backstab to modify mute, hit % and opportunity
@@zotyomester8223 Thats not true, he said in the video, you look for those windows where you don't get an extra combo point from Ruthlessness and then use SnD with 4 Combo Points if it is down. If it procced and you have 5 CPs after 2 Mutilates, you Envenom even if SnD is not active. Plus, you have to make sure the boss does not die before SnD timer runs out, or else its a waste.
Great guide, this seems like it's fully maximizing rogue to it's fullest potential. One question. If relentless doesn't proc and you're sitting on 4 CP envenom, it's still recommend to do another Muti just to slam the 5 CP Envenom?
Hey I was wondering when do you think its best to pop gloves/belt/hat? I assume it would be right off the rip and after vanish with the 10% dmg buff but I don't see many top logs doing that. Is there something I'm missing? I would assume making the most out of the 10% dmg buff with extra crit and attack speed to be the best time.
Drop Adrenaline Rush and go 26 combat and 5 opportunity. I don't think the Assassination Build will do much more damage, if u have 50% more OH dmg and Opportunity. Poisens will proc often enough.
I run seal fate, but that is maybe more of a personal flavor I guess 🙂 the dragonbreath chilli, and shadow oil really helps out somewhat evening out the higher armor value situation 😉
If you have a decent duration of s&d up, and full stack of deadly poison but only 4 combo points, would you do envenom next or mutilate? Considering you will waste a combo point by doing mutilate?
@@bonemealx but envenom's DMG is affected only by amount causes according to the tooltip. Combo points add only extra seconds to the poison proc chance (?)
I question the wildtstrikes and shadow oil as when i was running instant poisons both MH/OH and the tool tip would say "Do you wish to replace wildstrikes with instant poison", i still showed as having the wildstrikes buff despite wildstrikes not appearing on the weapon? I am guessing it only shows as a buff because i am in the wildstrike group but not actually benefitting from it? Is that correct otherwise there is no harm running 2x shadow oil both mh/oh still getting wildstrike buff
In addition to this, from the raid i've done tonight, Shadow Oil is a complete waste of time. On a Thermaplugg fight it did 700/800 dmg overall across a fight where I was north of 100k total dmg. I swapped to instant poison III on my OH which did circa 11k dmg overall and an increase of 50dps between the two fights. For the love of god do not run Shadow Oil OH over Instant Poison III
FYI to all checking the comments, you should be highly sceptical of the suggestion that SND in sustained rotation isn't substantially better than solely sustaining envenoms. At the very least take that claim with an enormous grain of salt. There's a reason the top SoD parsers (which frankly Simonize is not among) all have SND uptime of 85%+.
top SoD parsers have 9 other people that are top parsers themselves. The faster the boss dies, the better the parses due to uptime of tea and cold blood. + critical chance is a high variability when it comes to parsing. when it comes to SnD uptime, he doesn't say these things out of nowhere with no data to back it up. If you knew simonize, you`d know he has a spreadsheet to sim the best dps output possible.
@@Shokatuqt there's already thousands of logs illustrating the fact that keeping SND up is more beneficial to phase 2 encounter DPS vs not. But if you want to take one guy with a spreadsheet as gospel over a comparable mountain of evidence then all power to you.
