The Rogue RM-100A traditional A-model mandolin is a great way for multi-instrumentalists and first-time bluegrass players to explore the sounds of the mandolin without breaking the bank.
Sporting a gorgeous high-gloss finish, the RM-100A offers an easy-to-play maple neck and adjustable compensated rosewood bridge, perfectly suited for developing mandolin players trying to perfect their chops.
Featuring clean workmanship throughout, the RM-100A projects a bright tone with lots of bark. It boasts chrome tuning machines, nickel-plated frets and standard F-holes to complete its look.
Filmed at Musician's Friend in January 2015.

Awesome beater. Picked one of these up from a pawn shop. First strum after tuning I knew it had vibe. Got it home, played a week. The tailpiece failed. Rivets popping loose. I wasn't daunted. Replaced the tail with a nice $14 one from stewmac. Smooth sailing after. Killer mando for the price.

So I already have a Japanese made Kentucky KM 250S, a new KM 270, and a Gibson, but I still NEED one of these Rogues!

I think im going to buy a black one, looks like a good inexpensive starter mandolin for someone new to instruments like me 👍.

I got one of these a few years back. probably 5 years ago. Played it a little bit and learned a few chords but quit when i stopped playing guitar. i still have it. it was very impressive. sounds every bit as good as a 300$+ mandolin and the fit and finish of all parts was excellent especially for the price. i'd even recommend these to experienced people or folks wanting to play in a stringband doing bluegrass. it's got plenty of punch to er.

A beginner who gave up trying to play donated one of these to me a month ago. I'm primarily a guitarist but I thought I'd give it a whirl. I was doubtful after the first listen because it was so out of tune and intonation. But I figured I'd at least set it up properly and see what happened. I didn't bother to change the strings. I could tell they were old, but not that bad.I was pleasantly surprised. It turned out to be a real gem. Crazy good sustain and tone. The pegs are pretty smooth and they hold tune as well as any guitar I've ever had. The fit and finish is outstanding for the street price of ($50). The neck is arrow straight and the frets are not overly ragged. A dressing would help but is really not necessary.You've heard of "highway robbery" I'm sure. This is it. But in reverse. With this crime the consumer is the thief. Thanks Rogue :) !!!!I ordered a new one from Guitar Center as a backup for spare parts. If anything on my old one wears out I'm set. At 50 bucks I can't go wrong :)

Just bought one of these for my dad for Christmas. He already plays guitar and bass, and I thought he might enjoy adding mandolin to his repertoire.

Mandolin is an easy second instrument for guitarists to play, just ask Peter Buck from R.E.M.

Is it like a real mandolin that you can really use to play a good show and things
@cleodiuss

Yes I believe this is a real mandolin
@elliebean1118

It’s a real mandolin and you could use it for shows if you wanted, just as you could use a Squier Stratocaster, etc... it’s not the nicest mandolin but it’s good value for money and there’s nothing “wrong” with it. It certainly beats beginner/budget mandolins from the past!

If you're performing in stage and the Rogue is set up well and you are using a pickup, sure, but if you are good enough to perform suck it up and at least get a better instrument that isn't made out of plywood like a Kentucky KM 150.

Um... wait a minute. Did he say a mandolin for 3995 meaning $39.95US and not $3995.00? That is an unbelievably low price. I thought I was doing well seeing a music store a few towns over selling some factory seconds mandolins at $100 Cdn that were normally about $249. I wonder if they make a left-handed model for about that price. I haven't seen this brand listed in any of the stores that carry mandolins that I've seen to date.

Yes, that is how much it costs, incredibly cheap for a mandolin.

SHRP a musical instrument should last, even if it’s low quality. A caving in top is pathetic and the manufacturers should be ashamed. I have a really shitty unbranded uke that’s held up for 6 years and still is in good shape, so the fact that this mandolin, no matter how much it costs, made by a pretty reputable maker has fallen apart after such a short period of time, is utterly ridiculous.

brent, i'm curious as to how it happened. was it a bracing issue?
@brentbreault7606

Zachary Thomason It’s unclear, but the top is made of plywood so that’s probably it
