Trap bars are one of the best ways for any level athlete to properly deadlift since the design is more aligned with your body compared to a barbell, leading to better form and a more natural feeling overall. The Rogue TB-2 is one of our favorite trap bars out there, and for good reason.
If you aren’t familiar with trap bars, they tend to be a hexagon shape with an opening for you to step into. They feature two loading sleeves (similar to a barbell), and a set of handles for you to perform exercises like deadlifts, shoulder shrugs, and farmers walks (just to name a few). The fully knurled handles on the TB-2 are raised up and decrease your range of motion, so beginners and anyone who is rehabbing an injury can learn/relearn how to properly deadlift. The cool thing is that you can also flip the bar over to use the other set of handles if you want to increase your range of motion.
The Rogue TB-2 Trap Bar weighs 60 pounds on its own, has 16-inch loading sleeves (which is comparable to a barbell), and is 88.5 inches in length from sleeve to sleeve. The handles are 25 inches apart from one another (which should be accommodating for the majority of lifters), and sit just over eight inches from the floor. The TB-2 is also rackable, so you can use it with a power rack to work in some bench presses, or shoulder presses. When looking for a solid trap bar for your workout program, we think the TB-2 should be on your short list of targets due to its sticky tack knurling, strong steel build, and overall versatility it brings to the gym. This was a great and detailed review! I just want to point out though that your point of needing Rogue equipment to use with it is wrong. All plates will fit loose on it because these welded specialty bars use pipe with a slightly thinner diameter than normal barbell sleeves. You just need to get specialty collars like Lock-Jaw axle collars, Rogue HG axle collars, Proloc collars or elitefts Croc collars. You definitely don’t need to get Rogue branded plates if you don’t have them.

Great review and good job! I was put off by the price at first, but you're right, its Rogue and lifetime warrantied. I have a CAP barbell trap bar and its.....cheap. This is a lifetime investment because the bar will last longer than I will....lol.

For the price, I would go with Rep’s open trap bar.

it's unlikely someone looking at a trap bar doesn't already have a barbell. nobody is benching or pressing with this. Pretty pricey for a uni-tasker tool

Rogue TB-2 = Too BIG!!! Too heavy!!!! Too expensive!!!! For beginners too BIG, too heavy, too expensive is a bad combination ❌🙈 For beginners the smaller Bells of Steel hex bar would be ideal = smaller, lighter, half the price of the tb2 Moving around the TB2 in a garage gym would be both gruelling, exhausting, and possibly dangerous ⚠️ For Advanced trainers that heavily incorporate trap bar into program = Eleiko ✅ TB2 = we have many of these in various home and commercial gyms, I love this bar, but cautious to recommend it until I see who and where this bar is going, it’s a tank that most won’t be able to move comfortably, or at all 😂 Bells of steel hex for beginners, tight space, and cost 💲 Eleiko if you want the best of the best 💯
