I found Rohn 25g tower for sale in Tampa FL. My Uncle and I took a road trip to pick up the tower. Mike still had to take down the 35' tower and I filmed while they took it down. Their conversations were hilarious. I had enough tower sections to make 2 towers.

I bought a used Rohn 25G tower 85ft for 100.00 only 4years old. Drove 400 miles one way, diesel was 300.00, so 400.00 total . But coming home with it at night I hit a piece of steel in the road and it punctured my fuel tank. The next morning found a leak on the ground from tank, that problem cost 570.00 to get repaired, so overall the tower cost me $970.00 not counting food. It would have been easier just to buy new and have delivered. But, those things can happen, a chance you take on the road. The trip was from Baton Rouge, La to above Tupelo, Ms. Hey I still like my tower!

Roger Nate, I still need to refurb the Rohn 25g and have a contraption built to connect to the winch to lower and raise the tower.

its like Mutt and Jeff taking down the Rohn 25G, lol. Just bought 40’ of Rohn 25G, looking at a foldover base and an eave bracket, put the tower next to the house, and use the eave bracket to avoid guying.. look on RU-vid, many use #5000 capacity 12V auto winches, with a bracket embedded into the concrete base behind the hinged base, then use a pulley up at the Eave bracket to change the angle of the wire rope… should work. might just buy the steel and build the foldover hinged base & house bracket.. buying it new is over $800, the steel isn’t that expensive, a Harbor Frieght welder & mask, good to go 😂

I am new again to HF, and i have an appointment to take my tech test in 3 weeks. I had my Texh licenses back when i was 16, almost 35 years but i fell out of the hobby when life as a young man took over. I got back into cb for a bit, and it's just not enough not to mention that buying used items is very sketchy lately. Scammers and outrught thieves take your moneyband run. I feel safer buying from a guy that's been vetted by his time and honesty as a Ham. It's nice to be able to look a guybuonand get info before sending money! Anyway, your tower videos have inspired me to buy my own. I dont have an HOA, and i am going tomorrow to get a 40 foor tower. Nice I have 80 foot of Rohn 25g. Decided to go only 40 foot with a Rohn 25g tilt base. And a 12 foot mast. Tower parts look good. Just brush them with a plastic disk on a drill motor. Try not to be to abrasive as most is just surface rust. Then yes, paint it with silver galvi rust paint. good to go. No need to do anything else. nice job. I paid 1000 for 80 feet. With the top section. The tilt base was 300 i think I hand dug the hole witch is 36" x 36" x 36" . Made the cage out of rebar by hand. hand mixed and poured like 40 bags of 80lb concreate. You got this. Oh yeah and like you, I can still put up another one. Let me know if you need anything. Mine took 11 days of actual work. (or 4 months of my free time.)_ Curious to see your solutions. 73 k4rna

Yeah with a ROHN 25g tilt plate you ca go 40 foot without guys. I ended up putting a 12 foot mast on top with a yeasu g-800dxa rotor controller too. no issues so far.

I laughed my ass off. Reminds me of coaching my kids. Lol. Will work really nice capt. I would stick with an aluminum beam. Jk Antenna is my pick. Hex doesn’t last long enough.
