Rohrabacher/Bright vs Kovalova/Smith at the Pickleball Central Indoor USA Championships 

Props to Callie and Lucy fro good sportsmanship. Keeping a good attitude when you're getting trounced is tough to do.

Ouch!…total domination from Bright & Rohrabacher!…..Smith & Kovalova scored 12 total pts in 3 championship games?!!…what a lopsided match. Players like Matt Wright, Kovalova, Kyle Yates, Jardim, were dominating a couple of years back, now that stronger competition is coming in, they just can’t compete at the elite level!….I love Callie, but I just don’t think she’s improving her game, is she just spending all her time working out in the gym and giving pickleball camps, instead of focusing on her pro game?????? Kovalova, I don’t care for her too much, always giving stare downs with fist pump, just like hubby Matt, not very friendly. I don’t see her game improving/evolving either……..

Wow, Rohrabacher and Bright are scary duo looking forward to seeing more from them. This is not your grandparents pickleball.

I don’t know if it’s the indoor effect but Anna & Rachel hit much more 3rd shot drives and crashed in for the put away 5th shot than I have seen in most outdoor matches! Also, didn’t matter if Rachel or Anna were diagonal to Callie, they terrorized her with their cross court backhand topspin roll dinks. Callie would hit a slice dink back diagonally and the two handed backhand topspin dink would come back even harder forcing pop ups or misses! Brutal to watch as Callie is an excellent player and athlete who just looked helpless.

So. More knowledgeable people chime in - But isn’t Rohrabacher’s story a fun one? When she was drafted in the forth round to the Squeeze at the beginning of this season, there were a few people who commented that she was a fairly lesser known player, and that it may have been a bad draft pick. But ever since her MLP Premier debut, it seems like she’s been a FORCE to be reckoned with!
