Pésimo kumite. Ninguno de los dos tuvo la actitud para marcar la diferencia, se midieron sin tomar iniciativa. Quizás porque sensei Nemoto estaba lesionado, y que Rojas no aprovechó. El chileno, deficiente, sin técnica, además de irrespetuoso, haciendo gestos que no se condicen con nuestra disciplina, evidentemente no le enseñaron o no aprendió de qué se trata karate.
Se trata de ganar. ... y ganó. A pesar de que los jueces jugaron empecinadamente en su contra. Lo demás que digas son excusas. El que se vió falto de técnica es el tal Nemoto. No sabía qué hacer.
@@jorgeestrada5713 Karate tendría que ser para defensa personal no para kumite deportivo. El instructor Nemoto como bien dice, no supo que hacer; no se le ve el nivel que supuestamente tendría que tener; el otro competidor; si, carece de entendimiento de Karate y parece muy influenciado por lo deportivo a lo "hincha de Fútbol"; ya Inoue Sensei ha mencionado en más de una entrevista (que están o estaban en RU-vid) que por estas latitudes la parte técnica se ha entendido pero no el resto. Yo he vivido algún tiempo en Japón, y realmente los conceptos y Sociedad son diametralmente opuestos por lo que muchas cosas no se logran asimilar. Si, el nivel de técnica deportiva que se ve al competidor de Chile; en realidad, se ve más alto que el del instructor de la JKA. Muy buena mawashi geri; bien focalizada y bastante precisa; con control; uke no supo que hacer en ese preciso instante. De todas maneras no fue ippon. Los jueces estuvieron correctos allí. De todas maneras, a mi cada vez me cabe menos dudas que ser alto o más alto que el contrincante en este tipo de torneos a un punto; sin contacto continuo, es la clave; cualquiera de ellos bastante más bajo; pierde.
Hey David, thanks a lot for your comment. As for any competition using Funakoshi Sensei's name would always raise question marks I believe, I'm sure the organizers were driven by respect though. Regarding the performance of Rodrigo: I believe he's a great athlete, winning such a high level competition would deserve more respect than what he received. It was the World Championship, we can of course talk about how much better everything was in the past - this is NOW (...2017...), the participating athletes were the best ippon shobu fighters from each countries, winning there takes a lot of mental strength besides a high technical level. Did we like it from every aspect? That's up to every single spectator, one thing is for sure: if we're unsatisfied, we as coaches/judges/competitors/karatekas in general need to work for a change. The future of Karate-Do is our responsibility.
@@KaratedoFocus Thanks for your reply. With that said, it is sad to see the current status of "sports" karate. The practice shown in this video is very far from the intention of Funakoshi (read his autobiography, train for years with one of Funakoshi's former students). I especially dislike Rodrigo's gross celebrations of his own perceived abilities upon "scoring" a point or really just tagging or touching his opponent. Very un-sportsman-like. Very much against true bushido. He is almost always fully extended upon completion of his techniques. Critically, the physical part of karate is the vehicle to a higher goal. I hope you have experienced this in your practice. I was lucky enough to study this art for over 50 years.
@@davidgilley1179 Dear David, Funakoshi Sensei's fear of the negative effects on the character and Karate in general was absolutely valid, the goal can change... But if I may say: that also became the reason why it's so popular, can reach so many people in 2023, amongst countless Martial Arts around. Practicing Karate gives a goal whether you're interested in developing basic sport skills at a very young age, competing or trying to understand its traditions.
