No I didn't speed up the video. All real time. I do have a 1gb connection and was in the main room with my main router.

Yes, once these are setup they would record with or without your laptop on.

Actually, Roku directly rips it off from Wyze, so if you want a camera that looks like the Roku, get a Wyze Cam V3, because it probably is way more secure.

Yes, it can continuously record. You can use a 128GB SD card which would be 10-12ish days of 24/7 recording. That's what I've did to avoid paying monthly for a subscription.

​@BigCVlogs can you delete unwanted recordings off of the SD card while its still in the roku camera? To make room for more recording

I have never had any of these issues. Try a different location for the camera. It could be the AC in your house making some move that's making that noise... If not then I'd id it something with the camera itself.

You can set this one to only record motion events. I'd suggest getting a 128GB SD card and then it will record it all locally without paying a monthly fee.

I had this issue as well. I have to uninstall the app, reboot my phone, reinstall and then It worked after that.

Thank you Vic for this question! I was at attempt #4, before I ran across this comment & it finally connected (attempt #5) before I went the route of uninstalling, rebooting & reinstalling.

Yes, they even have a setting for when they are placed in the window. Get an SD card and you can 24/7 of what happens.

Yes, It even works with Roku Voice on those smart devices.

Yes it will. As long as the device is on at home, and your home internet is up, you can use the Roku app on your phone to view the camera from anywhere in the world.

So Yes and No. If you have an SD Card inside, then Yes. If the camera has power, it will keep recording and you can review it later on once your wifi is back. If you DO NOT have an SD Card installed, then your camera is basically doing nothing in the event of an internet outage.

I would recommend Wyze over Roku.

It just gives you cloud storage. I would highly recommend just buying a 128 GB SD card, and setting the device to continuously record. Then you can go back to any point in time and see what you need without paying a monthly fee. I also think it's a monthly fee per camera so the SD card is the best choice really.

Yes, it should.

That sadly happens with updates. You could try to factory reset it and set it up again. Then just skip that update.

I agree. Doesn't make sense that they are cheaper. They should be the same price or more than the Wyze versions lol.

@@contendingforthefaith9897 ... It wants you to point the ROKU camera at the QR code on the phone, so it can CONNECT the camera to your wifi & the app for that matter. Granted, it took me 5 attempts at pointing the Roku camera at the QR code (UGH!!) & 90 seconds of holding it in place, before it ::: FINALLY ::: connected. Otherwise, it was about to be sent back for a REFUND. lol.

Yes she could if you shared the cameras with her or gave her the login information to the Roku Smart app and she installed it and logged in.

Interesting. I don't have an Internet provider's wifi6 router but I have the Nest Pro system that is Wifi6 and didn't have any issues.

@@christianserrano9448 I actually just got my money back and went with Wyze cameras, which these are the exact same but different software. Got those to work with my Spectrum router just fine.

Do you know how large of a micro SD card do these support? Many reviews I've seen either don't even mention you can use an sd card or not much info. Thanks

No, these don't use a base station. The cameras themselves have Wi-Fi antennas built in that connect to your Wi-Fi network.

You have to have base station on Roku outdoor camera.

Don't hold me to it but I'm pretty sure you can just use a micro SD card but it is not included i don't think they offer a subscription.

Yeah you can just use the SD cards without paying monthly.

Yes you have to have a subscription to watch recorded video after 14 day free trial.

@@BigCVlogs after 14 day free trial all I could get was a still picture with notification and live video but can't watch video from SD card.

Yes, once it's setup just open the app from anywhere and you can see the live view.

I'm having problems as well. It says it's for 2.5 ghz that's what I'm using and it just keeps saying "can not connect to network" I've tried everything. Uninstaller the app and reinstall rebooting my router rebooting my phone unplugging it everything still nothing

Yes, as far as I know they have no limits on the amount of cameras you can add.

From what I have seen, No. They are locked to the Roku Smart Home App. Some people might be able to flash the firmware to work with the Wyze app though.

I think this camera has volume settings for the speaker inside the settings menu.

I don't think it can be shared. He would just need to login with your email and password on his phone and it would work just like yours.

What if the tape fails? There's no way to screw in on?

It can. Just have your wife download the app and sign in with your email and password. Then she can view the cameras as well as yourself. This is what me and my wife did.

Weird. Try to restart your phone and make sure your 10 or more ft away from the camera.

Yes, it is weatherproof and can be used outside.

Yes you can. Once it's setup, you can view it from anywhere as long as the internet is up at your house and the Internet is working on your phone. (Wifi or 4g/5g)

Very interesting... With the Wyze versions you can record the SD card without paying... So check out Wyze. A little more but the same cameras because Roku can lose the money that Wyze can't. (Roku rebranded Wyze Cameras as there own)

Dude do yourself a favor and get a real security camera. I just ordered Reolink cameras and will be ditching these Roku cameras as soon as the reolinks arrive. No subscription service (unless you want extra cloud storage) + the ability to connect it to an NVR / DVR. Forget about these stupid Hikvision cameras (that’s who Wyze and even Xiaomi get their cameras from) Again, let me reiterate: Wyze does not make their own cameras. At all. Wyze devices are OBMs and get their product rebranded from a company based out of Mainland China. Do you really trust that? Especially for a SLIGHTLY more convenient camera for set up. And I say slightly more convenient loosely. Setting up these better cameras really isn’t as hard as Wyze.

Try to turn off your mobile data, and just be on wifi and see it connects. I seen this work many times with Wyze Cameras and these are really Wyze cameras with a Roku logo lol.

Did you figure it out? I have the same problem but I do not pay for the subscription. I walk past it and it doesn’t detect anything. It detected motion for 14 days and now it doesn’t anymore.

The answer is a resounding NO. The whole point is for them to milk as much money out of you as possible. Just go with a company like Reolink. Or at the very least stick with Wyze.

@NewsAction1 check this one out- I'd forgotten, bc that's just how I am, that I'd been using the roku streaming thing for TV and paying for it, when I had set up 2 indoor cams, but on a diff account (my thinking was if I linked it to the one on the TV when I'm not home couldn't who ever is watching TV, go into settings, and mess with the cam lol) anyways, well, idk what even happened to them, AND today? My roku out door said that I wasn't going to get video recordings now bc my trail was done (ummmm that's wayway wayyy been over and I've been paying???) Then I just said screw it and after I paid, now it won't connect. Now it keeps saying to power it off. Dude like.. idk maybe I'm just more dumb than I thought but, I haven't even got up. I'm over this. I had 33 bucks, the level of facepalm I feel, is unexplainable

I dont think they have ever updated the app. You could get the video clips from the SD Card if you removed it and put it in a PC or something. Sadly you cant review the video from the Roku app because they never pushed the update that Roku said was coming in December of 2022.

No, it's a Roku camera really. Basically Wyze hardware rebranded with Roku logos.

You can go into the settings and turn off the status light. I normally do that with mine because I don't want them to be spotted easily.

I have had issues getting devices to connect before. I have found, that turning off mobile data will sometimes help them connect. So make sure you phone is on wifi, turn off your cellular/mobile data, turn on the camera and launch the app and see if it connects to your wifi. I am not sure why this happens, but it has worked on a few different brands of cameras and a few smart bulbs in the past.

It is really. It can be used outdoors, just doesn't come with the outdoor power plug like the "Outdoor Camera SE". They are the same devices with different power cables in the end lol.

This camera has to be plugged in to work. So it really doesn't have an on/off button since it doesn't have a battery in it.

My understanding is, once the cameras are on your Roku account, you can use your voice on your Roku remote and say "show me the front yard camera" (if that's the cameras name) and then your Roku TV shows the camera feed. I myself didn't test this since I dont use Roku TVs but that was my understanding.

I think the voice remote, you can say "Show my Living Room Camera" and it should show up on your Roku TV.

These do not have a battery. These must be plugged in at all times.
