how would it hold volume wise against a blues jr? i currently gig with a peavey classic 30 (i will not sell this) but i was looking for a secondary amp, that i could switch out using at my church gig.
matthew stewart I have a Tweed Blues jr and I also have this amp in the cream color and it has more lower end and seems to be quite a bit louder than my Bj
What about using this amp with the Boss ME-80 multi-effects pedal board? Most reviewers are saying the ME-80 needs a tube amp. Do you think this "tube-logic" technology would be sufficient? How does this compare with the Katana as far a weight? Thanks.
Blues Cube Hot is a different animal. The Hot has a really nice "Fenderesque" tonal quality that replicates the sound of a classic tube amp to near perfection. It is a very simple amplifier with no onboard effects, no FX loop etc. It does sound amazing. The Katana offers much more versatility in the way of FX, amp types, channel switching and the like. I love the sound of the BC HOT for classic rock and blues stuff. It really does match up to the tube amps it's competing with. The Katana allows for much more variety of sounds without having to go to pedals (which you would have to do with the BC Hot). So I guess it's a matter of what kind of sound you are going after. I personally love gigging with the Blues Cube Artist. It has the killer classic tube tone with all of the bells and whistles: FX Loop, GAFC foot controller, presence knob, etc.
I'm planning to get those two. The Artist and the Katana. Just listen to this. I decided to go for an all tube amp just to treat myself. I'll end up with no tubes at all. at least for now. nices demos Scott! cheers +Ontrackmaster
I personally prefer the no frills of this amp over many of the modelers with effects and pre-sets. This allows you to play cleanly and add effects if desired. For me, the Katana has more features than I was seeking in an amp this size. I am very happy adding pedals as needed to color my sound and love this amp's clean tones. I play mostly, funk, jazz, rhythm and blues and blues and this is great for all of those styles. Great demo, it helped solidify my choice of purchase.
Couldnt get past the tuning and intonation being off to enjoy the demo. How do these guys do these videos and not notice how badly the guitar is out of tune? Smh
You teach music but are okay with publishing this? How can anyone with any basic sense of pitch not stop and tune up?? I really wanted to watch but stopped it early out of self defense.
