It is a great starter printer/cutter. It is slow compared to other printers but the resolution is up there with $30k Roland printers for under $6k. Start out and upgrade from there. I bought two of them. Neglected the first one and once I got serious, it went down. Bought a 2nd one April of last year and it paid for itself still not being serious; about $12k in sales. Now everything I print is all profit other than materials. Wish they had the A for the cheaper price at the shop I bought it from. Great video!
I have an small ecosolvent printer, but I am scare about the toxicity and fumes of the inks, I use it in my house for my small business, I have a daughter I don’t want problem with her health or mine either, do you think a charcoal air purifier can resolve that?
Would you buy the bn20 or a used Versacamm 540 ? I can get both for around the same price ??? Will a used machine last long ?? I know it will depend on the quality of the used machine purchased ..
Heya, so at the moment I mainly print labels and dye cut stickers. These are a4 laminated. I'm interested in a bn-20. Do you recommend it as the first step? Is there ways to dye cut or is it all kiss cut? I have so many questions lol
congrats on your next step! so with your questions. compared to standard inkjet labels BN20 stickers are more durable since it is a vinyl based. and the only one on the market that prints and cuts on vinyl in that range, BN20 can perfcut but not ideal i have tested it and worked but the process in my testing is VERY slow. so best to do on a separate cutter. hope this helps!
Does the Roland BN20 allow you to print, laminate, reload and cut? Also, curious what the largest job you have run on it? how did it perform aside from being kinda slow?
Its a great little machine and prints nice. Just a little slower then larger roland ecosol. If your ok with that. Otherwise i love it in my shop. This one i bought local.
You’re better off saving a littler more and buying a bigger printer. It’s so slow and uses much more ink. Plus it doesn’t have a curing unit so you’ll have to wait before laminating anything and then cut.
How does the BN-20 if you take the sheet out and then put it back in for cutting. For example, if you were to print and then take it to a laminator and then put it back through to cut. Just curious to see how well it registers after the sheet has been taken out.
basically, same way we do on latex. but no barcodes obviously the test i did worked well, but was only 18x30 print. but versaworks so simple you just select print or cut etc.. so when you print a job take out lam it put back in go back to job in que select cut only it will then find reg marks etc..
having a lot of fun with that guy! i feel like when my latex running its doing big boy stuff and then roland for small run label jobs that i dont need lam
@@DaPrintHouse Sounds about right. I'm always concerned when you take something offline that you have registration issues. You ever used a Mutoh printer before? I see they have some smaller eco-solvent cut/print options also.
@@DaPrintHouse your videos on the BN-20 made me go do some research. Mutoh makes the VJ628 which does up to 1440dpi. It's a 24" wide roll. Looks like it retails for around $6,500. They offer a print/cut solution for around $9,000. I also see them sold as dye-sublimation printers under the Sawgrass brand with different style inks.
