Funny. I’m Pinay but didn’t know him until the AGT. Same like you I dig who he is and can’t find any background except his singing engagement as invited. Roland is just one of Filipinos who sings well. For us Filipinos, it is normal to hear men and women singing in karaokes every corners of the city and even provinces. Karaoke is a business in the Philippines where people will just drop 5 Pesos and you got 1 song. You can hear street kids singing, street sweepers, labors, workers, by passers, during break time, liesures especially Saturdays and Sundays. We are not surprised anymore if you hear good singers in the streets. Singing here is for fun not a job. Some singers made success in singing. Mostly just having fun everyday.
