Ok, so let’s start with an introduction on Patterns, we need to start from somewhere, right?
I decided not to include a view on the controllers of the Fantom but to focus on what is shown on the display. In order to get a clear view you need to be quite close to the display with the camera, I hope it is ok.
This video includes the following product demonstration of the sequencer:
- Introduction to Scenes
- Introduction to Patterns
- How to call an Initial Scene
- How to create a Pattern
- How to do real time recording on a pattern
- How to perform basic management on patterns
- How to change tones for recording of patterns

@@soundformore I am trying to figure out how to send both "audio and MIDI" to my Daw (Studio One) via USB ... I know it can do it (a Roland product specialists talks about it on one of their videos and says it can be done ... and that it is a main strength that works on any DAW, not just Logic Pro) ... BUT no where does it explain how to do so ... if you know this ... PLEASE share a video on it ... the manual says it can transmit both audio and MIDI over the USB port if set to "Vendor" which I have done ... but can't figure out how to actually get it assigned or transmitted .... does that make sense? ... I want to be able to use the Fantom do arrange a number of tracks and use some of the sounds/scenes ... but I also need to do my final arrangements in Studio One with other VSTs ... thank you again for such great videos ... GREAT STUFF!! ... I would be grateful for any insight you have ... or doing a video on the subject ... it is an important need for using the Fantom with a DAW ....

I'm about 85% sure that I'm gonna pick one of these up in the next few months, and I think I'll thank you in advance for being one of the many people who will show me how to drive a Ferrari when all I knew how to drive before was a Dodge Caravan... hehe. (Seriously, I cannot DAW, I have tried FL and Ableton and I just... it's too overwhelming. Something like this Fantom Workstation seems a lot more intuitive for someone like me who just wants to lay down a few tracks and jam a bit.)

Useful thanks 👍 The last Roland sequencer I used was on an XP80. Thinking of getting a Fantom 06 to replace a Korg Triton Extreme 61. Good to know that can I still make up sequences and tracks even though it’s a pattern sequencer.

Hi, patterns are saved in Scenes. Click the write button, touch a scene, rename if you need to, select a location and press ok…

You need to provide more info please before I can try to help. When you say sound, do you mean a note recorded in a pattern? What preset are you using?

Hit record inside the pattern view, change the time signature to for example 2/4 and set the length to 8 for measure…

Great video as always. This may be a silly question, but I've found the sequencer always starts from the beginning, which when you're attempting to edit a 64 measure sequence in piano roll is really annoying. Am I doing something wrong?

You can change the start play position in the loop settings…

11:36 How many options do we actually have for the Pattern Sequencer Timing? I was wondering if that could be changed to something smaller (the next 1/4 or 1/8) or something longer (like the next 2 measures) akin to Ableton Live.

At this stage it is measure or pattern end for patterns play changes… interestingly when it comes to other part of the system the selection is much greater…

@@soundformore That's interesting. Can you send out the patterns to external MIDI gear, so a piano part could play externally and a bass part is played internally by the Fantom-0?
