When I try to download the packs for my Fantom it says I have to have Zenology installed? To be honest the price that you pay for the Fantom you should have some Zenology features for free. Paying that much for a synth then forced to go down the soft synth route to get the best sounds is absurd. Why do I have to have Zenology installed on my Mac to download and install packs on the Fantom?
Did it, worked. But to be honest guys, we have 2020 and install using usb stick? how about a direct usb connection since you already got your "cloud manager" ....
Hi ROLAND - Can you explain why these sound packs can not be accessed via the pack's name? i.e., "Lofi Beats," once loaded into the Fantom, no longer has any tie to that sound pack name. They just load as sounds. The names of the sounds don't have "Lofi" either. The thumbnails of the sounds don't have the "Lofi beats" icon or branding. How do we access these "Sound Packs" once they're in the Fantom? Are we supposed to make our own Scenes and place all of these sounds into them? Thinking of that, why didn't the makers of these sound packs create scenes for them included in the pack that we could have installed? Just trying to figure out this ecosystem. Thanks!
On the webpage, after the download it changes to INSTALL....what s that for? Can t we install simply via USB connection, instead of this thumb drive dance? Thank you?
I don't think the installation of a Scene (SVD file) is described correctly in this video. You don't shut down the Fantom and back on while holding the tempo button (as you do for the model expansions and the supernatural expansions). Instead, when the Fantom is on and the USB drive installed, simply hit Menu and then proceed as described here. If you do the shut-down-turn-on-tempo button dance, you need to Exit out if this before you can hit Menu. Also note that the Knowledge Base instructions for uploading expansions leaves out the .png files. I guess Roland is confused by the complexity of their own upload routines...
To install a Scene, copy the .SVD file from your computer to the root directory of the USB drive. Insert the USB into the USB Memory port of your Phantom already powered up. Then hit Menu, then Utility, then Import, then Import Scene. Locate the Scene in the folder Scene, select it and follow the screen instructions...
Yeah, they REALLY need to pin a correction about loading Scenes. You can't get to the Menu after holding down the Tempo button; you turn on the Fantom normally, and with the USB inserted THEN you hit Menu, Utility, import, etc.
I have a question: how many Zenology instruments can the Roland Fantom run at one time? It just occurred to me that getting one of these would take all of the CPU strain off my DAW computer. Roland, you should really feature that as a selling point for your Fantom keyboards.
Hi, I am looking to get a patch and wavelist for the Roland EXZ006 expansion pack for the Roland RD-88 keyboard. Thanks. Also it'll be very helpful if you could please let me know where I could download or atleast see a list of all the relevant EXZ packs actual patches and wavelist. (EXZ001 thru EXZ0015). Much appreciated. Thank you.
Boa noite Ed, poderia me ajudar?? Obrigado!!
There are a ton of pages of sounds i will never use in the user section. Is there a way for me to remove sounds so I dont have to scroll through so many pages?
For Supernatural Tones, after the first load activity, I load the file for the scene but, when I start the Fantom, appears the same window for the expansions loading and it is no possible to switch to the menu. Please, give me an explanation for this
This video has bad instructions. Just put the scene decompressed SVD on your thumb drive. ---. Then start the Fantom normally (DON'T HOLD DOWN TEMPO) and do the same steps in the video. When you get to import scenes, the scenes will show up in the directory.
@@SixteenVoice I notice that the SVD files for the Acoustic and Electric pianos are both called FANTOM.SVD. Same creation date but different file sizes. Can I put both on the thumb drive at once and it will recognise both - or is having the same name going to confuse the FANTOM? Should I import from one first, remove it from the thumb drive and then add and work from the second one?
@@fraxis2007 Sorry. I sold my Fantom 8 and got the RD-2000 plus Korg Wavestate and Korg Pa1000 instead. Fantom was too frustrating and underwhelming for a 2019 workstation!
Do these packs contain all of the Integra-7 sounds? I’d love to get the new Fantom and ditch my Integra-7. And do I need to pay for Roland Cloud in order to download these?
This first part of the video makes no sense, when loading the SDZ sounds, he doesn't explain very well how to find the sounds he loaded, he just turns to a random page and says here they are. Why is there no way to find the libraries by their bank name? This is a huge oversight here, or perhaps I'm just not understanding how this is supposed to work when you want to recall these sounds with ease. The EXZ's are pretty self explanatory, but the SDZ sounds are not at all.. It would make more sense to just have a 1 to 1 interaction with the synth. It makes no sense to not have it work completely integrated now.
Hi Everyone ! First, congrats for post and thanks a lot ! Could you please check if you can help me? I bought a Fantom-0, downloaded the libraries and tried to install following the same procedures on the Fantom-0, but the message "Incorrect file!" appears. What could it be, could you please help me?
@ Ive had the same problem on my Fantom 06. Did you ever find a solution?

@@robertbowes7111 Hi Robert ! I was downloading the Fantom 7 file instead of the Fantom-0. Anyway, I deleted all my expansions and successfully reloaded them.
Roland, on a product of this price, all of this should be able to be done over a direct USB connection to a PC or Mac, and not via endless swapping of USB Flash Drives and having to switch the device on and off all the time. It's such a clumsy method of working.
No kidding...all this cloud , cloud manager crap is ridiculous! This video was a life saver for getting my Fantom loaded up after 2 weeks of screwing around. Even my local dealer had trouble figuring it out, and never did. No where, when signing into the stupid thing does it tell you your Roland Key is the product Serial number! Had to dig for that info for 2 days. I sent there so called support team an email asking about that and still have not heard back! Lol Because of this idiotic system, I will most likely Not buy another Roland board. I was looking at a Jupiter X, but I think I'll go with the Arturia Polybrute .
The Scene part is very confusing. Other than to not have to turn off and then on while holding the tempo button, don't execute the scenes immediately. Be aware of where to place your Scenes before you execute, usually on the initial ones. I pressed execute immediately, and now the "homecoming" scene is on B128, separate from the other Scenes that are on C024 to C039.
For some reason I can’t see the files on my Roland FANTOM to have the supernatural Acoustic pianos. The 2 files That i have on the usb end with .exz and .png
I've formatted the USB to Fantom and put on all the SDZ and PNG files on the USB but when I try to transfer and install them onto my Fantom I get a "Incorrect File" Error. If anyone can help me get this working that would be much appreciated!
Guys...it's totally insane that we cannot compose time changes on what is supposed to be a professional sequencer and workstation in 2020! Not all music is endless 8 bar phrases in 4/4! PLEASE give us a full-featured linear sequencer with time changes/tempo changes! There isn't anything on the market that meets those needs in an all in one keyboard workstation. Right now all we can do is switch to 3/4 and that's only for the whole song. A cover of Strawberry fields is out the window.
Problem solved in System update 3.0: You can select 1-32 beats per measure and use half, quarter, eight or sixteenth notes as unit, e.g. feel free to compose in 17/8 time signature ;-)
@@lellebauer Correct! It should say "Hardware" or "Both". In my Pro subscription, I have to pay for a lifetime key for the hardware version for some of these downloads, so the Hardware option may not show up until you pay (and then wait for a few hours for the new license to actually show up in RCM).
With my Kronos, I store everything I need on the computer, open the editor, and just write it to wherever. Simple. With Roland, download to usb, turn on turn off turn on turn off. Menu diving for everything. C'mon Man !!!!!!! It's 2021
Dude your crazy forget about the crybabies that want this keyboard to do everything and don't know how to do a work around..its about using it for your hustle..I bought this keyboard a lil over a month ago..and made close to ten grand using it since..
@@SixteenVoice dude, I love my fantom 6, and if we talk about software, I just got my Kronos titanium edition, which is supposed to be like their flagship... please search for their workflow on adding expansions... comparing to that.. this is living in the future... Also, have you ever tried to instal AKAI's MPC packs? yes... i hope in the future it will become more streamlined lined but don't let a pretty bad workflow that you need to do once... take you away from some amazing pieces of gear. The fantom comes with around 14k sounds when fully packed with their bonuses.. excuse me.. but for half a day of working I will take this pack anyway .. but kronos is amazing too... different amazing.. I don't know man..
@@randomtopology I gave up. Stayed in Roland family with an RD2000 exchange. But I think I will stick with DAW and VSTs for future workstation needs. I work in computers and what they are putting in these workstations the last few years hardware-wise for the price is very disappointing.

The Fantom have the worst install methods out of all the major synths and workstations on the market. Geez. The AKAI MPC Key 61 have the best install method. Just connect the keyboard to their online account, and whenever there's an update it will show you once you turn on the keyboard. Only thing you have to do is accept the update, and that's it.
