How come this does not work when using a scene ex. (A001 the first Scene) ? You seem to only show how to Record starting using a Single Tone? Why does it not work with a Scene, can you explain??? Thx ElectricEddie
Hi Ed, I am music producer Roger Bonner. I am requesting that you guys put a Chord set in the chord memory of the Fantom that conforms with the one in Ableton Live 11. I am working with it a lot and it just seems that Roland could do it for the community of people who aren’t the best players in the world.
Hi Ed, thanks for all the great videos. Question for you. Are you aware of a multi button footswitch that can easily plug in to the Fantom to control transport/sessions/etc.. that can plug into the fantom and not be a separate usb midi foot controller ?
I have bee having midi issues with the fantom 7 since i bought it. when i do THIS it's like EVERYTHING in my fantom is sending midi messages to EVERYTHING in ableton. its triggering clips, changing channels, start recording clips, etc. For what ever reason it always records on clip track 8, mind you, i didn't select anything. This happens when i simply play keys on the keyboard. Also happens when I slave the sequencer to ableton. This is very frustrating as i have returned one unit for another thinking the unit was defective. tech support couldn't help. haven't seen or heard of anyone else having this issue so maybe its something im missing. I have manually initialized scenes and everything I could think of. I love the fantom but im definitely under utilizing it because of this issue. Contemplating selling it at this point unless some gives me a magic pill to fix this issue. what say you about this issue Ed? or anyone . HELP!
Dude, I've been asking this for a year, no one seems to know or if they do, they don't care. This is one of the frustrating things about the Fantom audio interface, there doesn't seem to be a way to turn of direct monitoring i.e. the sound from the Fantom mixer so that only the DAW plays. There should be a way but it does my head in everytime I come back to the Fantom because cheaper AI's have this capability.
This is because the “local” is set to “on” in the Fantom. If you go to Sound settings in the menu you can turn local off and it won’t do that when routing via a DAW. Remember to turn local back “on” to make the fantom work as normal when not using the DAW.
@@user-yr1uq1qe6y If I close my DAW and power off the Fantom. How will it remember or recall the Sounds I've recorded in my DAW if I open up the Project again?
anydody knows where the EP tone @12:45 comes from? it doesn't seem to be in the "standard" sounds the fantom comes with... maybe the supernatural electric piano pack?
I have a Fantom 06 and I'm wondering...can I do linear recording in Ableton with my keyboard....or is it all clip-based? If that's the case...that would really suck.
@@seankalifut9948 I could not get my Fantom 06 working with Live Lite(contacted Roland support & they told me I had to upgrade to Live Standard, for it to work)....that's an extra $369 I would have had to spend! I bought the f**king keyboard so that I would not have to rely on a desktop PC...but the onboard sequencer is utterly retarded....so I returned my Fantom for a refund. I will NEVER buy Roland hardware ever again(besides...what's the f**king point, when you can have everything that's in the Fantom, within the Zenology software for just $279!!)
@@seankalifut9948 I don't know for a fact, that this is the case(it was just what I was told and it seemed like speculation, on their part.) My understanding of the differences between Live Lite & Standard, is that with an upgrade, you have more tracks & routing options. I haven't pulled the trigger on the Zenology software as of yet(though I did try the demo & I really like the GUI in the program.) I went with a Korg Kross 2 61-key & surprisingly, it has a lot of the functionality of the Fantom 06(but for $700 less.) I wish I had bought a Yamaha Motif XF years ago(as Yamaha doesn't make workstations like that anymore.)
No Daw control for cubase yet. If you want to use the Fantom as an audio interface then download Fantom drivers from the website and select it as your audio interface in cubase.
