Show ! Tenho um também. Esse módulo é maravilhoso e ainda o expandir com algumas ótimas placas SRX. Toooooop ! Maravilhado. Podem inventar o que for, esse me atende perfeitamente em bandas de perfomance, evento e estúdio. Ligado mídi no XP 80 Roland ficou ótimo.
@@SynthManiaDotCom You can, actually (with an asterisk). The asterisk: this is the "I" bank which, along with some extra features, was added in a revision to both the rack and keyboard (firmware version 2.0). You can guarantee yours comes with this revision by default if there's a blue icon on the left of the XR that says "Sample Tools Expansion", or a red strip under where it says "X6/X7/X8" that says "Audio Track Expansion". There was also an upgrade kit to convert the original models into the ones with the extra features and patches, but I imagine those are very difficult to find (I've never seen one). I have a Fantom X8 with the Audio Track Expansion, and it has all of the patches shown in this video. So yeah, if you get one of the updated versions of the workstations, you can assume these presets are all there.
@@Meatball132 The question was "We can assume all these sounds can be found on the Roland Fantom X keyboard workstations right?" - The answer was "Nope" (we can't assume)
The Screen display has gone bad on the Used XR that I just got , Have you ever tried the editor for X ? Do you think I can use the editor to go thru the patches and save some of them to the Favorites on the module , so I can write the patch numbers on a paper and use it as a reference for playing Live from the Module , because nothing's visible on the display it's just lit ! and that's all .. ?
+su4691 I did try the editor but sold the Fantom XR since. I'm not sure you'd be able to fully use it without the display though - shouldn't be very expensive to replace
+SynthMania Does the xr have the same capabilities as the actual fantom keyboard? Or can I just buy a few patches and integrate them into my akai mini mpk2?
I keep hearing conflicting reports about the XR vs. XV-5080. Some say it sounds better, some say the analog out is horrible but digital out is great, others say it still doesn't sound as good as an XV. Got an opinion? I like the idea of a 1U 5080 sound set, plus whatever's new...
Sound-wise both are good. The XR has some fresher samples (but older ones from the XV are in there too), while the XV has a better sound engine i.e. it's better for programming your own sounds.
Thanks for the input. I've resolved to having both. Roland's lineup didn't always make much sense, where follow-on products were supersets of the previous. So, I'm slowly but surely filling in a collection of all the major rack modules along the path. Lots of overlap, but enough differences to make it interesting.
Great vid - loved the first piano sound - also the Rhodes and Wurlitzer one for the money What is the first tune you play? it's driving me crazy ! You're going to tell me it's a standard I've forgotten or an original ;-)
