Love your videos! I have the RP 501 and it is wonderful. The 701 has some nice upgrades, but I'm truly happy to have the 501. The sound is great, and so is the action. One thing I'd add is that Roland provides in home service (five years) for the console pianos, if there is an authorized provider in your area, so you do NOT have to send the piano back to them. This was a huge confidence builder for me, when I bought my RP 501.
Do you think the 701 is worth the extra price? I am planning to sell my yamaha p125 and get the rp501. Also does the 501 have the "half close" slider to conceal the screen and buttons?
Any 501s for sale are left over from before the 701 was released. They may not be much less expensive. I love my 501, but if the 701 was available and I were buying now, that's what I'd get. It does have some improved features. I got my 501 when it was hard to get anything, due to the pandemic. I also got a terrific open box price. But if I were starting from scratch, I'd get the 701.
Ted, I liked your playing in this video so much so, I offloaded it to my Laptop, I have been waiting to purchase the RP-701 in white since it was first released, few stores have in stock. BTW What is the name of the tune you played in the Demo, Sounds great..... Thanks for the Video.
Did anyone ever tried to pair Bluetooth headsets like Air Pods with the piano? Maybe with some kind of adapter? I really don’t understand why a new generation piano doesn’t come with the option of Bluetooth audio output…
Roland piano's sounds like shit. sorry. not like acoustic piano. everything else (except the piano sound) is ok. nothing more. Kawai or Yamaha similar product are much better sound wise (real piano sample instead of this model crap that Roland have).
