I'm really glad. I'm a race track announcer and I have never heard of the Hooligans' racing anything except for Flat Track. It's really good to see them in Moto America.

In 1965 Laguna Seca was on the Army base, Fort Ord. I'd been drafted and was on night guard duty right there by the track. I just couldn't resist the temptation and drove a 3/4 ton truck around the track, but didn't slide around any corners. If I'd been caught I probably would have gotten brig time, but since I got away with it I'm super glad I did it.

Dull as ditch water. I don't consider two people racing, who are way faster then the rest of the field, exciting. Exciting racing is when you have depth of talent through the entire field, and a grid of riders who can finish within 20 seconds of each other. Go watch British Superbikes if you want to see exciting racing across all the support classes.

@@westers1514 This race was more unpredictable than most MotoGP races I've been watching for decades. On MotoGP, I can usually tell you who the winner is from the start of the race. Besides I was rooting for the lady in 5th to move up some and not the guys in front. I like picking the underdogs.

Nah. The BMW isn't even close to being competitive, and you left out the Japanese love, Z900 and MT-09, GSXS1000, CB1000. not to mention the Ducati monster.

I haven't been there since they extended the track. We were AFM racers back then in the late 70's and into the 80's. The guys that I started there, back in those days, are still riding at these tracks on Track Days.

FTRs are OHC v-twins and liquid cool. Saw what looked to be xr1200 HDs but it seem like a good mix of bikes....even a HD Live Wire! I really like this class, seeing it's only 8 laps, it's a exhibition class.

This class makes no sense. KTM 890s against FTRs and assorted random harleys. If you want a naked bike class put the 890s against MT-09s, Z900s, Street Triples, etc. Then at least there will be some competitive racing across the field.

Agree but they would all need to ride the KTM. We need more competitive bikes in this class other than the KTMs.

@@zepm7184 They certainly are fun to watch. The class probably would do well on the ovals as well just like the old 50's and 60's bikes at Daytona and the like. Motorcycle racing was severely set back by the Daytona racing group after the AMA got out of most of the racing in the states. There are plenty of inline and v twins around to be homologated. Sv Suzukis, Honda Africa Twins, Aprilia and BMW dual sports. It could make it if there was some support I think but now it's just a fun oddity.

As an FTR owner, it does make me happy to see Indian getting involved in roadracing. Granted, the FTR is gonna struggle against the KTM, but this type of racing is important for future development.

What is this class? Other than being standard-uprights is the only requirement to be a V-twin? Seems there could be a 40hp difference between a 1200’sportster and a rc890.

If it's been a long time, then you're missing out on some MotoGP and Moto3, every year there's at least 2 insane races in MotoGP and Moto3 is just nuts all the time, if you want here's some insane battles in Moto3 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Fkh9OT36l94.html and also there's Australia 2015, 2017, 2019 and Austria 2017, 2018 an 2019 in MotoGP, amazing races with battles down to the line.

The two KTMS out front were not stock. Filmore’s bike was running an Akroprovic exhaust system. Running an exhaust system like that, the bikes fuel system needs to be remapped otherwise it’ll overheat from running to lean. That exhaust alone paired with the remapping will push at least 8 more horsepower out of that bike.

cant help but feel this was inspired by the Icon Monsters race in France. The bikes are nowhere near as cool as the Monster's race 'tho, but that's likely due to the older crowd who green lit this series wanting to see number plates and 19's reminiscent of their day. Hopefully more people join in.

I feel like I should take the mick about the US bikes having 300+more cubes and still losing by miles but this was such good racing I won't mention it. Between this and the baggers its more exciting to watch than moto gp has been for many years.
