Pairing the Roland SH-101 with an OTO Machines BAM reverb. The SH-101 is a classic vintage analog monophonic synthesizer from the 80s. The BAM is a reverb unit that emulates 70s/80s classic reverbs. In this video I demo a few different patches and mostly improvise along the way.

I don't know what makes the sh101 sound so good, but it is for sure one of my favorite synths

CEM based oscillator. Other than that it's extremely overpriced.

@@NickHchaos if there was anything out there that sounded the same i would say so... but i havent found one yet.. some sound almost the same...it just has a vibe to it you cant mistake..

Aron Secchi my g storm cloned filed + discrete oscillator sounds pretty spot on, way more flexible too.

some recent leaks indicate they are doing a boutique 101, will probably come in red. I expect it to be digital, we will see how it sounds :)

The Sh101 is all sweet spot. Always a win.

Agreed. I feel like the size of a sweet spot is inversely proportional to the number of features. In other words, the simpler the synth the wider the sweet spot. This is why I prefer minimal synths with great tones over feature-packed synths with weak basic tones.

OMG. Been looking at verbs around half the price of this thing but none of them do what this thing does so I suppose it's justified... Cool demo, hope it will sound just as good on my SH-01a ;)

Oh no I have not, but I'd love to try one one day. Glad to hear they work well together. I have too many delay pedals so it's hard to justify another one.. but it's OTO Machines so I may have to lol.
