Enjoyed that very much. I have a 1985 16030. A gift from my awesome wife for my 60th. It was chosen for me by my 32 year old son. I recently said to him “This will be yours one day son” He replied “Yes dad. I know. That’s why Chose that one” ….Little ba*#a+d.

Love the vintage Datejusts. Looking at the old ones, I now know what's wrong with the modern ones. The fluted bezel is too thick and prominent. It ends up dominating the watch face instead of complimenting it.

Will there be another bi-color Rolex in the near future for sale? Like the Rolex Datejust Bicolor Pie Pan 1971 you had couple of days before? Unfortunately I wasn’t fast enough 🥲

My dad had a 69 with no cyclops, he kept the original acrylic but he had a aftermarket cyclop delete one installed. I wonder how prevalent it was at the time...
