I have the previous model and many people who quite like that one can't stand the post 2000 model. I personally love it. I dont think we've seen the last of it either. I believe Rolex will release one again in the future. Larger ofcourse.
Thanks for the excellent review, Tim. I just tried on the YM 37. It fits my 15.5 cm wrist perfectly, but so does my DJ from the 80s, so I suspect the T-O-G would fit just as well. I prefer the look and tech of the YM 37, but the T-O-G's scarcity, history and lower price make this a tough choice and, with a blue dial, gives the YM's good looks a run for its money.
This is tricky. From a looks point of view, I prefer the Yacht Master, but the Turnograph is the more unusual Rolex nowadays. Yacht Masters you see in ADs everywhere. Still, hard to choose a winner here.
Excellent video Tim. I really can now appreciate the difference between the 37mm yachtmaster, and the 40. A truly beautiful underrated rolex. The turn o graph ain't half bad either. Great video.
I initialy wanted to upgrade my DJ 16234 to a discontinued turn-o-graph half gold (rose). In the end after trying the YM 37mm as well, I decided to for the YM 40 116621 with everose gold.
The best head to head watch analysis only on the watchBox channel: I am excited as I own both a DJ and YM for many years. The YM has it for me mainly in the area of aesthetic as it is luxuriously finished but the DJ is the king of versatility from a trip to the gym or crown court.
I know this is an old video but I'm thinking about getting a turnograph and saw this video... you say the turnograph "was not part of the Superlative Chronometer scheme" , but in fact its easy to read "Superlative Chronometer" right on the dial of the turnograph you are holding(1:04). my quick question is i read the turnograph has the 3135 movement, some listings read it has the blue parachrome hairspring, would you know what year it was introduced to the turnograph line?
Turnograph for me. Love the vs. series. Asked on another of your videos and will ask here also. VC Cornes de Vache vs. PP 5070. Would love to hear your thoughts.
