I could sit and listen to Rolf Lislevand play for hours and hours! Rolf is just fantastic! I absolutely adore his "remix" of the XVI-Century little ditty "Di, Perra Mora!" that no one knows who wrote the music/lyrics! (Rolf was wise titling it "La Perra Mora" and just having it instrumental!)

I'm not a knowledgeable aficionado of this music (yet). But this guy takes nearly ancient music and ROCKS it. And they mic'd it with sensitivity and separation so I can really hear what it is like there. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Blue StarFractal can you please explain what thumb under technique is? thank you :)
@bluestarfractal5434
@bluestarfractal5434 7 лет назад
The thumb under technique is a way of attacking the strings with the right hand from under rather than over the top as in. classical guitar.It was used in early renaissance lute and vihuela playing.The nails play no part in the attack at all,resulting in a soft mellow sound.Of course this would not be suitable in a modern concert hall!

You know how to read sheet music? Here i have tarantelas arrangment realise that its not the original composition by santiago de murcia, instead it is an improvovisation by Lislevand upon murcias piece you can call it variations too if you want. drive.google.com/file/d/1KTOgSpeHEq505dzaytrAH1BVnbhyMWqQ/view?usp=sharing

The correct spelling is rasgueádo. 😊
@ryebaborak3294
@ryebaborak3294 5 лет назад
Actually we know pretty much exactly how the Batterie (rasgueádo) should be done. In fact Corbetta gave precise instructions for the Caprice de Chaconne in the introduction to his La guitarre royale (1671). Lislevand does not perform it according to the instructions of Corbetta - that is for sure.
