In 1967, former Mississippi Governor Ross Barnett sought to return the Governor's Mansion. "Lets Roll Again With Ross" by Houston Davis and performed by the Magnolia State Quartet with the Jerry Lane Orchestra was his campaign song. He placed fourth in the Democratic Primary.
