Another song I'd love to have a TLJ version of is Diggy-diggy hole. I've loved when you've sung it on JJ, and a well polished version would be quite delicious. I'd also love some of the newer versions of old songs that used to be led by Josh or Anna. Wild mountain thyme, John Paul Jones, Retirement song. Stuff like that. They're so very different with other voices, and I actually like some of the newer versions more than the old ones. Oh, and Sam Hall. That's a lovely one too. Well, the topic isn't that lovely, but the song is.

So weird without Dave. But of course the sound is still awesome.

Even without Dave this is amazing as usual (he is missed). For my song recomendations I suggest a cover of Poor Man's Poison "c'mon down" or your version of "ghost riders in the sky"

I had a look at this interesting story, so beautifully sung. The Esso Northumbria was built at Wallsend and launched by Princess Anne as the song says. Designed to carry crude oil, she was indeed poorly built, and only served 12 years, tho this is not unusual in the life of oil tankers. She did not in fact cause an oil spill, this is for some reason an alternative tale from the Dreadnoughts version of the song. But there have been many real oil spills at sea, not least the Torrey Canyon disaster off the Scillies, a disaster on which my aunt worked as a marine biologist for many years. Unfortunately we are still shipping the stuff about, so there are bound to be more spills. Oil tankers make up at least 40% of the world’s fleet. Staggering.

The original Dreadnoughts version is my 4yo's favorite song! (He and his 7yo brother both shout "BOOO!" at the line about "the Empire we love") He's loving this one.
