The light-painting tubes that I'm using are not always easy to find. But it's ok, there are some solutions. In this video, Kim and I explore a few options that you guys can do to roll your own tube. The cake collar seems to be a good solution as it's available from pretty much everywhere.
** UPDATE: if you can't find any acetate, look for laminating sheets or OHP sheets **
Cake Collar, Baking Acetate Roll 125 micron amzn.to/2jvuVE2
Dura-Lar Film sheet, 20" by 25" amzn.to/2hYgYyd
Regular tubes (the ones that I'm actually using): amzn.to/2neLvNP

Thank you Eric and Kim for both your effort of demonstrating it. I haven't taught that it would be cheap and so easy.

After seeing your videos and getting a new camera i was really inspired to try it. But like you say the tubes are not easy to find. So i cut up 2 litre plastic bottles and taped them together inserted the baking paper and it worked. Thankyou both so much for your amazing work. Keep it up 👍

Hello guys! I followed your advice step by step and now I have fabulous tubes to make, I hope, wonderful photos! I will begin to use the tubes as soon as I lose the two kilos I have taken while eating cakes and when I am cured of diabetes !! :-) (kidding!). it seems superfluous to tell you that I love your photos and that they were a source of inspiration!! I love you. Greetings from Sicily, Italy.

Hi Eric... Am from India and I follow you and have seen all of your work which inspired me to start light/ tube painting. I use exactly what you have shown in the video. I went to lamination shop and bought A0 SIZE lamination sheet, cut it in to 8 inch strips and made all my tubes. I also use coloured transparent sheet which are available in local stationary shop. You have actually liked several of my photos in Instagram and Facebook which actually inspires beginners like us more. Thanks for that. One more problem in India is that we don't get Eagletac flash lights here. I use Fenix brand which is quite good for luminosity but does not have constant strobe mode. Hope this problem gets resolved in future.
@Ericpare
@Ericpare 6 лет назад
That's very interesting! Yes I remember your pictures... very nice work instagram.com/p/Bbdp6B4FflH/ Fenix is also a very good option, but as you said, they don't have constant strobe mode. Do you know why? Patrick told me in #08 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OFJaoe8rkQA.html Check out if you can get Olight, Atactical or Thorfire... they do have constant strobe mode

And there is also the plastic sticky back cover for school books (which is larger than the cake collar and it's possible to stick it directly on a parchement paper sheet to get both at once) : www.amazon.co.uk/Tiger-Plastic-Sticky-Back-Cover/dp/B002Q0KLQU :)

No it's simpler than that. I'm just using flashlights inside the tube... If this is all new for you, this video is going to answer a lot of your questions: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IwRKN_8Aql4.html :)
