Thanks for doing this review. I loved your energy about it! I've read the Barrier Peaks chapter and loved it. I own the original module but I really like this new one. Also thanks as I've been looking for more videos on it and am realizing that the Vecna adventure and the core rules really have sucked the energy from this publication. I would totally watch play throughs of these adventures. I'm really looking forward to running some of them.

I felt like I would like this more than I did. Reading through it there are parts I like-the problem is I can’t ever see slotting these in any campaign, too long-too dungeon crawly for the most part. A lot of old school design ethic which doesn’t translate. Barrier peaks is cool because of the compendium additions but overall not worth the price tag.
Yeah I get that. Old school modules are very heavy on the mega-dungeons. I'm glad they included When a Star Falls and Beyond the Crystal Cave, as those are definitely not single mega-dungeons.
Lost City has the problem that they chopped off the bottom five levels of the adventure. They also changed up the factions from the original book because they used to be segregated by gender for two of them. And for whatever reason they changed them in the art to not look like cave fish people anymore. It's actually one of the better known modules in the book and it even got another 5e release with the Goodman games OAC line.
@@RogueWatson they chopped out the bottom five levels which originally were for the DM to fill in except for the last room which was the big bad. The underground city is still there but it never had a lot of detail because the point of the module was the further you went along the less information they gave so the DM would learn how to fill in higher level adventures. The new bottom level was created specifically just for this adventure. It doesn't appear in the original or the Goodman games remake
