I was thinking one part of the fire ring hadn't been sprayed! Until you moved down off the bank. You're right about the angles and sun changing the look. Boy that's some beautiful designing for their yard. There's still lots if grading to be done. Ya'lls work is beautiful, but I can't help think how much more beautiful it will be after all the landscaping is complete w grass. I wish you could go back later and give us a look at it then. When you were floating the porch, I just knew the handle was gonna hit the camera, glad I was wrong! I feel stupid for saying this, but it's on my mind, I assume the texture of the rolled slate will be enough to give it enough roughness to keep it from being slick when wet. You know, like the broom does regularly. It's got to or you'd be doing something to it. I'm anxiously waiting to see the color added. Rolled slate is as beautiful as stamped concrete! We'll see that tomorrow. Hey Tom, Mike Morgan has finished leveling off neighbor Cliff's pad for his pour. I'm hoping he gets you to either stamp or roll slate some of that. Lol, I did hear him give a one word answer once when Tom ask a question on camera! Tom: "You ok here Jim?" Jim's response: "Yeah" Thing is, the whole crew knows what to do, they're like a machine! Only noise ya here is bull floats, trowels, and edgers, rubbing concrete! LOL

I love the slate look! Growing up we had a dark blue-gray slate on the screened in porch between the driveway and kitchen door. It was always cool in the summer so I would sit on it to shuck corn and snap green beans. Can y’all replicate that natural dark blue-gray color in the initial pour?
Joints look better if they’re a little bet longer than the width. 5’ wide sidewalk could be 6’ to 7’ long. A 3’ sidewalk they can be 4’ to 5’ long. Note: joints being a little longer than they are wide some people think it will effect the cracking but it won’t . On this sidewalk you kept the joints pretty much square and it made it look to busy on the narrow end. This is not a Criticism just a tip to make your sidewalk work look better.
Hello, could you please talk about the price for concrete and availability? Are there shortages of concrete? What is your turnover like? Starting wages and skilled 3-5 years expernece wages? would be very interested in knowing some numbers. Thank you!

TOM, I have a question. on the form placement on these pours, is it the homeowners design/idea and you make it 'work' ? Or, yinz have to follow a print exactly to the "T" ? Also, yinz have so many different types of finishes, who makes that call? I'm sure with all your years of doing this stuff, you're Input matters. Good stuff!

Love the videos Tom. I commend you and your crew. Maybe you’ve answered this but I don’t remember…. Why don’t you use a magic or power screed and power trowels? I understand on smaller jobs but garage floors and basements? Just wondering….
I think those only work when the concrete is super wet. He’s from PA and a super wet concrete doesn’t last there. Maybe in California or Arizona. Also, I’ve used them before with my crew and unless you get the levels spot on, they are slow and cumbersome.

Tom ,I just recently saw a crew do a burlap finish on concrete, had you ever seen that ? Interesting look but they explained it was uncomfortable for bare feet . This was a city contract job out west
@@BuckyBoo22 another concrete contractor,either New Mexico , or California. They draped the burlap across the concrete and dragged it across , it left waves in the finish. Was at a Riverwalk where the city doesn't want people in barefeet. It was on RU-vid
