Good explanation. Just to add to that: the wheels' profile is important too. Wide is more for trail skating and medium to narrow is for artistic, dance, park. Also wheels can have an "edge" so they'll look more square: ideal for trail skating but also for artistic. Rounder wheels are more used in jam/dance skating
I just got the marawa impalas and some safety gear. I’m nervous to start though and a little embarrassed to go outside by myself 😬. So I guess I will be practicing in my garage when I get the courage🤦🏻♀️. I use to skate when I was a teen but I as never really great. But now I want to learn backwards skating and all sorts of cool tricks.
Your videos are always so informative! Obsess with you over on ig and I just got my rollerbones 98s for jam skating at the tenis court (changing from the impala wheels) like you recommended in your highlights and wow! I was mind blown with the difference. Thank youuu!
Thanks for the helpful information for a new skater. I'm waiting on them to arrive. I'm getting the moxi beach bunny and trying out with the stock wheels. As I learn I will probably upgrade skates and wheels. For a beginner is it a good idea to stick to the stock wheels or upgrade to maybe 80 something wheel? Thanks
Hi ! I am new to rollerskating and I am about to buy softer wheels since my originals are 85A. I am choosing between Chaya Cloud 9 and Big Softies since they are the only ones that I can currently get to Slovakia with decent shipment costs. I wanted to kindly ask, which ones would you recommend. I used to rollerblade ocassionaly so getting the balance back won't be an issue. I would later like to get more into learning some dance skating. Thank you so much 😊
Hey! I have the Chaya Cloud 9 as they come with the Chaya Melrose Classic Dance. I like that they are very soft and can take bigger cracks and pebbles. Sometimes they are a bit too chunky for dance skating in my opinion. I haven't tried the big softies so I can't compare them. If you're a beginner I would recommend the Cloud 9 but if you wanna make a one time investment I would look into a wheel that isn't that wide :)
