Rollerblade Macroblade 80 review and unboxing and comparison to the K2 V02 S100 Inline Skate.
Buying new Rollerblades? Torn between the K2 and Macroblade inline skates?
I've bladed over 1500km in both models over the last 3 years and can say with absolute certainty that the Macroblade 80 is by far the more comfortable and versatile model. The Macroblade is the better all around Rollerblade for training. The K2 V02 S100 is a high performance inline skate and it is very fast BUT it is not nearly as comfortable. It's speed makes it sketchy to use on city pathways and it is not that manoeuvrable in urban situations that require agility. For training or excercise sake the Marcoblade 80 is an economical choice that delivers good performance, is very agile and is more than adequate for the money.
Hope you found this review helpful. Please comment and like if you found this useful as it helps the algorithm. Thank you!

I want to thank you for talking about overuse injuries by using the same skate everyday. I was skating my 110mm tri skates almost everyday months ago and was having lower back pain. I couldn't skate for more than a mile (two after a rest day) before I had to rest. I took your advice about switching skates, and did yoga stretching for my back and was finally able to unlock more distance. I feel 4x90 works my legs while 3x110 taxes my lower back. I rarely ever have lower back pain now. I can now do 15 miles before I have to rest. Maybe it was a small line in your monologue to you in your review, but it made a big difference for me. Much obliged, sir!

Because of your video, I purchased a Macroblade 80 yesterday as my re-entry into inline skates for the first time in many years. Thank you very much for making the points you did. Had I not watched your video, I might have opted for a 90 or 100 mm wheel rollerblade because of the purported advantages of handling bumps better and faster speed. Your point about speed not necessarily being a positive thing because it also means you fall harder hit home for me. My intention in rollerblading is the same as yours -- exercise, and the Macroblade 80 requiring more exertion than a more effortless skate is a positive feature, not a negative. Your emphasis on how comfortable the Macroblade 80 is what convinced me that this is the right skate for me. Thank you for the concise and informative review!

Got the zetra blade elite after watching this video thinking they would still be decent but they were utterly horrible and i couldnt even push off my left foot for some reason. Too wobbly and too much flex. Shoe was my exact size. Just wondering if macroblade 80 is the same or much better than Zetrablade elite? I also tried the flying eagle fs6, they are too narrow for my wide feet and hurt alot (i got a size bigger) and are generally uncomfortable although much higher quality than the zetrablade elite and really fast. Would love your advice on which blade to get, i want something premium but good value for money. I am thinking of splurging on rollerblade rb cruiser if you recommend it? Roces? Fila? I live in Dubai and FR inline skates are not available. Powerslide zoom is but i'm reading it's still an entry level skate with forward tilt problems.
@TheLastHonestInfluencer
@TheLastHonestInfluencer Год назад
That's very strange! Sorry to hear that. So only the left boot was a terrible fit or were they both no good? Did you get them off Amazon? I'd return those for sure if possible. I don't find my macroblade 80 to be that different from the zetrablade other than the aluminum chasis to be honest. I've not tried the other brands you named but have had success with K2...not sure if you can get those in Dubai? Hope you find a good pair! Best of luck in your search.

How do you feel about 90mm wheels for indoor skating? I'm a returning skater after 16 years and use to skate on 80mm wheels. I'm looking for good speed and maneuverability and like to be able to cut wide corners without putting to much pressure to shift my ankles. And what size would you recommend for someone like me that had a 10 1/2 in foot length. I want a good snug tight fit, but get overwhelmed when choosing the size because most say to order a size up to your foot size.
@TheLastHonestInfluencer
@TheLastHonestInfluencer 2 года назад
Sounds like you definitely want to try them on in a store. I've had horrible luck sizing online orders...in fact I'll never order them online again. Stuck with a 500 pair that don't fit. Honestly I've never indoor skates so I can't really offer any valuable advice in that regard. I'd probably lean towards 80mm wheels or 3 wheels skates if that is important to you though. Hope that helps!

Good review; I had just narrowed it down to those two companies. Is there a much higher end skate that you suggest you like over the macro blade? If not I think that's the way for me to go. I like these sneaker type blades better to be honest. What about 80 versus 100 mm wheels, what's your thought on that? Also, what about a shorter versus longer wheelbase?
@TheLastHonestInfluencer
@TheLastHonestInfluencer 2 года назад
I'm with you totally on the sneaker type. They're like running shoes, so comfortable. I've not tried more expensive higher end skates that I like more than these. 100mm are my go to size, best all around. I like my long wheels base skates for days where I want to go fast and far in a straight line and the shorter wheel bases when I'm practicing carving, backwards skating and doing lots of stopping and starting. Hope that helps!

Hello. I recently got back into inline skating after a 20 plus year hiatus. Why do you recommend skating in different skates? Back in the day I only skated in one pair. Well actually two, one for fitness and the other were hockey blades.
@TheLastHonestInfluencer
@TheLastHonestInfluencer 2 года назад
Hi Scott! Great question. The reason I recommend that is because when I skate the same pair every day (after 30+ days) i get pains from overuse repetitive movement for example in my knees and hips. As soon as I started skating different skates in rotation with different weights and wheels sizes and frames lengths that problem went away! I find the same thing with running too I can run every day as long as I wear different shoes in rotation my feet stay healthy and ankles as well. If you have a super strong body perhaps you won't notice it but it's a trick that works well for me. Awesome to hear you're getting back into inline skating it is such a great way to stay healthy and strong. Thanks a lot for you comment Have a good one!!

Hey man! Thank you!! Really appreciate your comment and stoked that the vids helped and that you're getting into blading!! It's perfect cross training in the off season. If you're going to be cruising for endurance I'd go with the macroblade 80's. But as a competitive hockey player I'm sure you'll be skating interval sprints and doing hard cornering (just for fun likely) so I think it's a safe bet you'll like the 110's more for sure. They skate way more like an actual ice skate to me than the 80's do. I think you'd get bored in the 80's unless you're just logging distance to keep in shape. I play rec league in the winter and I can't tell you how much inline skating has helped me keep my endurance through the summer. I just do long steady state cardio around 60 mins a day tho, with an uphill sprint or two thrown in for good measure. Most day's I'm rocking the macroblade 80's because for the money, if you just want to cruise at moderate effort in a somewhat straight line to keep the lungs fresh they are perfect. Hope that helped brother! As an advanced skater you'll be absolutely flying in the 110's...enjoy!

One more question! How do you find sizing for the Zetrablade or Macroblade 80, 100? I am a US size 9.5 - 10, so I was thinking to go for 10's. Let me know if you could please, thank you!
@TheLastHonestInfluencer
@TheLastHonestInfluencer 3 года назад
Hey man! I find the macroblade sizing is pretty much spot on with my US shoe size. Just to be safe tho I think it's wise of you to go with the 10's, that way you're for sure going to have enough room in the toe box, with my old pairs its been way better to have them slightly too big that the other way around. Hope that helps brother! Let me know what you end up getting, stoked for you!

@TheLastHonestInfluencer
@TheLastHonestInfluencer 3 года назад
That's a healthy budget! If it were me I would buy the Macroblade 80 or Zetrablade for the purpose you mentioned. Reason being, when starting out the 80mm wheels don't let you get going insanely fast and you are able to manuever reasonably well. For cardio I'd stick to 4 wheels. Set aside the extra money for a solid helmet and possibly replacement wheels depending on how often you go. With inline skates for cardio and recreation I honestly have found that less in more. I find myself training in my less expensive pairs more than my flashy expensive super fast ones because it's a more enjoyable experience. Don't get me wrong, its super fun to go really fast on the larger wheels but I find myself having so many close calls avoiding dogs/bikes/people not paying attention at high speeds. Hope that helps! Happy skating!

@TheLastHonestInfluencer
@TheLastHonestInfluencer 3 года назад
Hi Ryan, I wear Nike as well, size 12(US) every pair. The size 12 in the Macroblade fits me perfect in every model. I think you should be good to go in a size 9 Macroblade as this seems to be others experience as well, have never heard anyone say they fit too small or too big. Whenever I'm buying a pair of skates that i've never worn before (like the K2 or the Maxxum Edge) I always buy a 12 and a 12.5 then return the pair that doesnt fit unused and unworn. Obviously this only works if the place you buy them from has a relaxed and easy return policy, luckily the place I get mine is super chill about it. If you have this option I recommend doing it. You'll know when the Macroblade fits perfect because your feet will feel super comfy in them almost exactly like your shoes (cept they will make you lean slightly forward in a skating pose). Hope that helps! Stoked you're getting your first pair man, best decision ever, so much fun. Thank you for the power! Any other questions fire away brother, let me know how you like them! -Jamie

Hey there. Thanks so much for all of your roller blade reviews. They've really been helpful. I played roller hockey when I was a young kid, but didn't take it into my teenage years. Now in my early 30s, I'm considering getting my first adult pair of roller blades as another means of fitness. Like you, I kind of had to let go of running because it wasn't kind on my body (low back issues). So I bought a bicycle, as there are a lot of local trails, and biked far distances, but everything gets old eventually and rollerblading seems like it'd give me a new, fresh thrill. From all your videos, I have gathered I should steer clear of K2 skates. It seems they don't have the same comfortability that Rollerblade does and it seems there are durability concerns. So, I've narrowed my choices to the following Macroblade 80, Macroblade 90, Macroblade 100-3WD (soft shell) and then I am intrigued by two higher end 'hard shell' skates: the RB Twister XT and the RB Pro X. As a beginner skate, it seems the Macroblade 80 would be your recommendation. However, I am a half size US shoe (a 9.5) and I noticed that oddly, the Macroblade 90 & 1003D both have a 9.5 size, but the 80 does not. I'd have to settle for size 10. Question 1: Do you think getting the correct size within a half inch is important enough to steer clear of the Macroblade 80? Question 2: I have repeatedly read that it's not wise for a beginner to jump to 100mm skates. Yet I recall your 'short' in which you made the case that the 100mm diameter is far superior to the rest. That tempted me to go with the 100 3WD, but I also don't want to collide into someone around a corner and get myself or anyone else hurt......... what do you think constitutes someone being considered an 'intermediate' ready to make the leap to 100mm? A basic ability to ice skate & roller blade on rare occasion thanks to rollerblading as a kid (me - lol) or months/years of adult experience riding 4x80mm? Question 3: I have heard skate enthusiasts rave about the hard shell 'RB Twister XT' & 'RB Pro X'. Both 4x80mm. Should I not get myself into the hype if I'm simply someone like you, who wants to use rollerblading as a means of fitness? The designs of those skates are very cool, and REI/Inline Warehouse are selling them for roughly $240, but for $300/325 I might be able to start with Macroblade 80 and then get the 100 3WD sometime in the future. Thanks again, and sorry for the lengthy reply. Just feels like a big choice I want to get right and I appreciate your input.... I wish there were local stores where you could try each pair on.
@TheLastHonestInfluencer
@TheLastHonestInfluencer 8 месяцев назад
Hi Chad! I totally empathize with your situation. Buying new blades is STILL a daunting task for me 10 pairs in... Question1: You should be ok within a half size for soft boot fitness skates like the macroblade 80 they are fairly forgiving. Q2: I think an athletic person would be able to start in 100mm skates IF they take it easy!! Start in forgiving environments like an empty parking lot WITH NO HILLS. Take it very slow. If you do this, you will be ok. If you strap them on and hit a high speed bike path with hills and obstacles and hard corners your first time in them...you're gonna be in danger for sure. Q3: I have very limited experience with hard shell skates because I can't stand the way they feel. I've tried them, and every time regretted it and switched them out for soft boot. They just arent comfortable for the kind of long skates I do. Some people use them for it...I just cant imagine how or why. Hope that helps!!! Let me know how you make out!

I had the opportunity the other day to try on some Macroblade 80s at a local sporting store. They didn't have a wide variety of skates, but was thrilled to see they had the size 10 on the shelf, and the guy that worked there didn't mind me trying them on and moving around a little. They fit snug around the ankle, but I did notice that, from my big toe to the front end of the sake, there was...understandably... about a half inch gap (1.5cm). You may be right, with the comfort around the ankle, my toe not touching the front of the skate may not have much of an effect on maneuverability, but I do wonder how a 9.5 size Macroblade would feel. That's why I'm still tempted by the Macroblade 90 that has that size...Darn those expensive, hard to find 90mm wheels that give me hesitation lol. All in all, I'll likely go with the size 10 MB 80s with a better price online... I do want a fitness skate that helps me further strengthen my core for the low back, as its my main objective of getting skates, so 80mm would seem the way to go. I don't want the wrong muscles working....and the hard shells probably don't make sense, especially once I'm riding long distances in the summer heat....... I'll keep an eye on your channel for any new 100mm reviews once I want to upgrade, and watch the wheel rotation video after I experience enough wear and tear to rotate the 80s, or 90s. Appreciate your help bro! @@TheLastHonestInfluencer

Hi Henry, a half size isn't bad at all. A little bit more toe space is better than not enough I would say. The crucial thing when sizing blades is that you can get your ankle nice and snug so it doesn't lift and cause blisters and that your toes don't touch the end of the toe box. If they feel comfortable on you I'd say you're good go! Hope that helps! Thank you for your comment and kind words they are greatly appreciated! Happy skating!! -Jamie

Hey brother! With you completely on the going crazy being locked down and sick of running, blading has been my salvation this spring and I think it'll be a game changer for you too! With your solid skating skills you'd be able to adapt to 3 wheels super fast so what you should let dictate your decision on which blades to choose is what surfaces you have available to skate on. If you have wide open freshly paved bike paths I'd go with the 3wd because you can let it rip without having to endure harsh pavement or bumps at high speeds. If you only have bumpy side walks and city streets and or old pathways I'd go with the 80's as you wont get ripping as fast and they have slightly softer wheels so your feet wont get sore because they are being jolted and vibrated by all the bumps at high speed. Hope that helps man! Thank you for the comment and any other question please feel free to ask!

Awesome! Just in time for the weekend that is exciting. I use thin polyester sport socks when I inline skate because my feet sweat a lot even in soft boots. I think any sport/polyester/running sock that goes at least 1/4 up your shin should work well. They help prevent blisters as well. Hope that helps! Thank you and have an awesome weekend!

Thank you Kevin! It's hard to say because someone with your level of experience might find the 80's too slow or not exciting enough very soon. Couple weeks into it you might want more. If you only want to buy one pair I would suggest the macroblade 1003WD, they're fast and agile but also great for crusing. If you just want something for long easy skates an 80 works for sure though! @TheLastHonestInfluencer
@TheLastHonestInfluencer 3 года назад
The most expensive pair I've ever personally purchased and used are the K2 V02 S100's in this video. Honestly man from what i've read up on if you want to really throw down for the best pair of blades possible you get the most value for your money by buying a skate with a super comfy boot, which are usually the cheaper models like the macroblade and then buying the highest quality most expensive set of bearings and wheels you can. Super high quality wheels and bearings will make a $200 pair of skates feel like the insane $800 pairs. ILQ-9 bearing from K2 are some of the best ive ever used. Set of 16 will run you $150 CAD and then some super high quality 83A or 84A wheels ($200) and you'll feel like you're gliding at top speed with hardly any effort its wild. Most of the super high end models what you're really paying for are the high end wheels and bearings...but then to make them all flashy they make a super uncomfy boot that looks cool (like the K2V02's) Hope that somewhat answers your question! Thanks for the comment man have a good one!

I want to get back in to skating but can’t decide between the macroblade 80 and the macroblade 90. Most of my skating will be on sidewalks, asphalt, etc for getting in better cardio shape. The 80’s are $150 and the 90’s are $219. I wear a size 10 shoe, but I tried on 80’s at the store and they were just a wee bit loose. I probably need a 9.5 but you can’t find 9.5’s or any half sizes in the 80’s anywhere including online . But, the 90’s online come in 9.5. Which pair would you recommend? I heard with the 80’s you can upgrade the wheel size to 84mm. If going with the macroblade 80, can you add a little thicker insole to help with the size?
@TheLastHonestInfluencer
@TheLastHonestInfluencer 2 года назад
Excellent decision to get back into skating and excellent questions! My thoughts are this: 80mm replacement wheels are far less expensive and way easier to come by and if you use your skates a lot you will want more sets of new wheels than you'd think. You're exactly right, what I do with my pairs that are just slightly too big (K2 MOD110) is I actually use two insoles and wear my thick socks. Seems to work, no blisters and it feels way better than they did before. To be completely honest you won't notice much difference from 80-84 or even up to 90mm. My advice is always get the 80 and if you want bigger you're way better off stepping up to 100mm as the replacement wheels at that size are way more common and 100mm is where you start to actually notice the improvement in speed and bump absorption from the increased diameter. That all being said, 90's will work for you, that's all just my personal opinion based on what's available where I live. What I did was buy the cheap 80mm to get started, loved it, and then bought a pair of 100mm as my next skates. I love them both and still skate both all the time. Hope that helps! Any other questions please feel free to ask!

Ok I’ve got an update here. So I bought the Macroblade 80’s this afternoon at Dick’s. At the same time, I went to a skateboard shop and bought some higher end Bronson replacement bearings. Got home and road around on the stock wheels and bearings. Man, all I can say is that these things are super fun and will be a great cardio work-out! However, after about 20 minutes, went inside and changed out the bearings to the faster ones. After putting on the skates, I noticed a considerable difference in wheel speed. So I decided to go down a steep hill in my neighborhood (I’m an adrenaline junkie). Needless to say, that was a huge, huge mistake. I was going so fast, I couldn’t control my speed. As I was approaching a stop sign at the bottom of the hill on the corner, there was a curb. All I can say is that I bit it extremely hard! No joke I probably went flying around 15ft and ended up on the other side of the street and jacked my shoulder up pretty good. Overall, I’m ok, but I can’t move my shoulder right now due to soreness. It’s a miracle that my collar bone isn’t broken. For anybody who is reading this and getting back in to skating after years of not skating, please take it slow. These skates are plenty fast enough as is out of the box. Finally, DO NOT go down any steep hills until you are fully ready. Other that my spill, these skates are awesome and will be super fun for getting a good cardio work-out!

Honestly the Macroblade 80's and Zetrablades are my favourite. The boot comfort is identical to my more expensive pairs and the 82A wheels are the perfect level of softness to wear life ratio that let me do long sessions without punishing foot vibration. What I'd recommend for you if you're looking to use them for exercise is starting out with the Macroblade 80's or Zetrablades (they are pretty much the same if you're going to use them for endurance training). If you rotate the wheels you can skate an hour every day for a full summer season in either of those no worries. They are my go to. Then later if you have more money to spend and you love blading a second pair of larger diameter wheeled skates is nice for the odd day when you feel like going for a fast rip or just want to switch it up. Keep in mind my choice is heavily biased by the type of skating I do which is longer duration in a straight line on a fairly newly paved dedicated bike path. Hope that helps man! Great question! I didn't notice any difference (in ride quality) at all. The replacement 84mm wheels are more expensive. You won't even notice that much of a difference between an 80mm and a 90mm (other than 90mm wheels are harder to find and more expensive as well). 80mm replacement wheels are abundant and economical. @@user-wh7mr2lr2e just my two cents: the only noticable improvement in skating I experienced in terms of bearings is when I upgrade to ILQ9 (or above) classic plus or S. I find all of my SG bearings ride the same, gum up quickly and require far more frequent cleaning that the ILQ bearings 9 and above. When I replace the wheels on my rollerblades I always switch to ILQ9 or better at the same time. Not everyone agrees, but over the years that's how I've kept my wheels spinning the fastest/easiest. Part of it is laziness, I find I don't have to clean the ILQ's, couple dabs of bearing lube or bike chain oil in the spring is all they need.

Macroblade 80 vs 80 ABT what dou you recomment?
@TheLastHonestInfluencer
@TheLastHonestInfluencer 3 года назад
Hi Harald, the only real difference i find between my regular macroblades and the ones that have the ABT is that I get about 15-20% more life out of the rubber stopper. This is because you're able to adjust the angle of it once it gets really worn and allows you to wear the thing completely out. The stopping power on the ABT is increased significantly after the stopper is worn past 50% as well. So if you are very new to inline skating I'd recommend the ABT as it will help you slow down faster but if you're intermediate to advanced I'd go with the regular macroblade. Reason being is the ABT does feel a little sketchy when you're cornering sharply; mine grazes the pavement when it's activated going around a corner and can throw you a bit off balance (you wont be cornering this hard when you're beginning). Hope that helps! Thank you for the comment and happy skating!

@TheLastHonestInfluencer 3 года назад
Hi I have experienced this also and think i can help you. It sounds like you might be cranking them too tight. I do notice there is a sweetspot for ankle tightness on all of my Rollerblade models. If I tighten them even a bit too much then I get the exact same symptoms you are describing and super painful shin splints. What I do now to get the perfect tightness is I do them up sitting, then I stand and take a couple of strides and then just give the plastic buckle button one quick push to ease it off by 3-4 gooves. Hope that explanation makes sense. It sounds like a subtle adjustment but it is the difference between me being able to skate for over an hour or being in pain after 10 minutes. Also, If I start getting random calf or shin pain at any time while I'm skating I back the ankle velcro strap and or the shin buckle off just a tad and it usually goes away within minutes. Once I got used to wearing them a little looser the long term comfort increased exponentially. Worth a try and I hope this works for you too!

@@TheLastHonestInfluencer Thank you so much for the suggestion! Will absolutely try it. It is just a difference of night and day switching to softshell with so little support around the ankles which is why I absolutely cranked the tightness. Btw. I am also around 220 pounds and a little out of shape. So this might play a role too.

@@romzen You're welcome, really hope this trick works for you too! Totally hear you on the massive difference in feeling between the hard and soft shell it takes a while to get used to the new feel for sure. Keep the duration of your sessions down to 20 mins per time until all the leg muscles adapt and slowly increase over time and you'll be cruising in comfort. Can relate to being out of shape too ha ha! Was 225 in Jan. Have been skating like a machine for about a month and a half so luckily I've dropped about 25 pounds. Inline skating is the best for cardio/weightloss! Really hope you get the comfort dialed in so you can enjoy more frequent and longer sessions too. Any other questions feel free to ask and I hope that I can help. Thank you for the comment and have a good one! -Jamie

@@TheLastHonestInfluencer Thank you so much for kind words! I just had another short sub 20 min session and loosened the stiffness as you suggested which really helped out a lot! Picked up skating recently again after doing it regularly 12 years ago during my early 20s. It really tackles so much of your body especially when you're the more chunky type due to years of gaining weight from body building... I usually prefer swimming, cross training and jump rope for cardio but with as everything is closed now I didn't want to be restricted to skipping. And as you suggested in one of your vids I also got a second soft shell pair for skating to switch it up. The soft shell may be harder to work with but will also be more beneficial I am sure.
@TheLastHonestInfluencer
@TheLastHonestInfluencer 3 года назад
Sweet! Stoked to hear that helped a bit hopefully after a few sessions you can dial it in and skate in comfort. I'm with you 100% on the swimming. Miss that so much. That's one of my go to forms of cardio as well. Sure missing the weights also, just isn't the same lifting crappy adjustable dumbbells at home. Hopefully the circus is over soon and we can get back to more serious training programs. Good talking to you, all the best in your fitness quest!!

Where do you typically rollerblade?
@TheLastHonestInfluencer
@TheLastHonestInfluencer 3 года назад
Mostly on asphalt bike paths. Occasionally I'll drive out to the country and find a nicely paved quiet road to do speed work (interval sprints). If I'm short on time the neighborhood streets work too but that's a last resort as I mostly skate for distance and speed. Thank you for the comment!

I just ordered the Macroblade 80 with the ABT brake system. I’ve read mixed reviews and heard it makes crossovers more difficult. I’m just concerned about the support. I’m used to a hard shell with 3 buckles. Worried the support won’t be there. If these are too slow then I might upgrade to Hydrogen wheels and new bearings. I’m not doing tricks but might want to skate backwards depending how quick I get my stability back. I used to play roller hockey and I’m worried if I’m not chasing a puck or ball I’ll overthink my skating technique. It’s definitely not like riding a bike I find that you loose it if you don’t use it. I live in Buffalo NY and we’ve always been a hockey town so to speak. We probably have more in common with Canada than the southern states. There are lots of senior roller hockey leagues and I’m considering joining if I can find my groove again. Roller hockey is so much better than deck hockey IMO because the games have more flow and require more finesse than mindless shin checking. These will give me an idea of what I want for my next pair. These are definitely solely for fitness and will be worn on the bike path only. I’m hoping I like them as much as you do.
@TheLastHonestInfluencer
@TheLastHonestInfluencer 3 года назад
Cross over's are trickier for sure. Having less support will take some getting used to but it happens quickly. At the start of the season transitioning from ice hockey skates to these soft boot blades is always an adjustment. The trade off is the soft boot blades can be worn for 2+ hours of continuous non stop skating no blisters or foot pain (*some models like the Macroblade 80). Roller hockey is awesome! The soft boots will be great for letting you build up your cardio base but it sounds like you'll want a hard shell pair with smaller wheels for your hockey skating for sure. Awesome comment man, it's great to talk to someone like you who is so into it as well! Hope you like them man! -Jamie

Narrow compared to all the other brands and models. That being said they aren't uncomfortably narrow...but if you have super wide feet you might want to try rollerblade brand.

Excellent choice! Since making this video I replaced the insole on the K2 V02...completely changed the feel of the skate. These are my go-to now, and I have great news for you: these are the most durable wheels and bearings I've ever skated on. With frequent rotations I've put on over 1500km of distance total now (and estimate the wheels to be only 50% worn if that)...have not cleaned the bearings once and they still roll like new...just hit 59kph downhill this am. That's insane, I cant do that on my brand new macroblade 100's. I might be buying a second pair or maybe the MOD 110 by K2 depends on availability. Either way, congrats on your new skates!! They are freaking awesome. I still cruise my macroblade 80's all the time as well. Just put new wheels and bearings on them a month ago and they skate better than new. You can't go wrong with them, an excellent pair of skates to have around for those days where the pavement is wet and you dont wanna get going to fast like you would on the V02's. Enjoy your new skates!! Thank you so much for the comment and kind words, much appreciated. Stay safe on your new skates too...they are FAST. -Jamie

I know you Canadians are smart people, y'all stay quiet and keep to yourselves. However' when you make your videos can you please dumb it down a notch for your American viewers and tell us your distances in miles? We have no idea what kilometers are and frankly' we're to lazy to google convert. Thx, decent review, but left me scratching my head using that meteric jibber jabber.

Whats up brotha! I got another question that i was curious about. Hiw much better and/or different are the zetrablades vs macroblades considering the price difference and the platsic composite frame vs the aluminum? Or even vs another similar priced 200ish other aluminum framed? I like the funny little video clips you and picture inserts added in, lol! 😂 Right on!

Hi, please tell what is your typical avarage speed on the same track using 80mm and 100mm wheels? Is this a big differance in speed?
@TheLastHonestInfluencer
@TheLastHonestInfluencer Год назад
Great question! According to the Strava GPS my average cruising speed over 20km of hilly terrain is between 15.8kph and 17kph reliably with 80mm. With 100mm wheels my typical average cruising speed is between 18.5kph and 21kph. I know that doesn’t look or seem like much but it certainly feels faster.

I've got K2 fit 84 (and this terrible wheels 84mm 80A + ilq5 bearings) now real dia is 79-80mm :) it let me keep 20kph on flat track. (I've Just ordered PS infinity wheels :) it should help. However, I was thinking about 100mm blades. What can you advise?
@TheLastHonestInfluencer
@TheLastHonestInfluencer Год назад
@@sullivangmail i've got a set of the PS infinity 100mm wheels with ilq-9 bearings and they are SWEET! Very fast. if you can skate that fast on 80mm wheels and old bearings you will FLY on 100mm blades. Honestly I love both for different reasons. It's nice to skate the 80mm for a change and then go back to my 100mm and it feels like I go so fast with way less effort. If you love to inline skate a lot for sport and training and fitness I would certainly advise investing in a pair of 100mm skates. You will love them.
