A four track path sculpture with a new style of lift from me. The arm lift uses two separate motors to drive the balls up to the top of the sculpture which measures 700mm round x 300mm deep. It has been powder coated in matte black and uses 25mm glass marbles. The sculpture incorporates a single loop, multi-ball tipping arm, balls on track, tall spiral and big dipper.

New lift system is much more elegant than the spiral style. Very smooth, my new favorite.

Nice lift! I love the spiral lift but this is the coolest diffrent kind ive seen! BTW,,ive been noticing how well you collect for the lift,,so neat how you use collecters or hide the way they merge into lift track! ! Nice work! 😆

Thank you for noticing. Collecting the tracks is one of the most difficult things to do, especially for smooth transitions. I do like this lift too!

Black is very good for displaying the marbles.

Yes - I agree, it makes for a good contrast between track and marbles.

This new style of lift is superb, Dave. So elegant and smooth and a delight to watch. Hope to see more of these from you :-D ..And I always love the up and over backwards loop. A well-constructed and super smooth element 1:30 ... 👍🏽👍🏽

That is just wonderful and fascinating! How long did you work for this one? Do you plan every single piece in advance or do the ideas come by while you are building?
@rollingballdave
@rollingballdave 3 года назад
Not sure how long this took, sorry. It'd be in the order of about 80-100 hrs of just welding and bending, then there's testing, filming and testing some more. I do plan out the components, but not the track layout. That just happens on the fly!

@@rollingballdave wow, okay! The filming is very cool by the way! Since a few days I also plan my first 2 marble runs and I also have the feeling that I cannot plan all and must work on the fly... Please keep up that fantastic work!

Dave, You've built what looks like a wonderful RBS. Unfortunately, this video only shows off the videographer/editor's skills, not your sculpture.

The only thing that would make this even more impressive is if you made the marbles yourself.
