I live in an apartment on the ninety-ninth floor of my block
And I sit at home looking out the window
Imagining the world has stopped
Then in flies a guy whos all dressed up like a union jack
And says, Ive won five pounds if I have his kind of detergent pack
I said, hey! you! get off of my cloud
Hey! you! get off of my cloud
Hey! you! get off of my cloud
Don't hang around cause twos a crowd
On my cloud, baby
The telephone is ringing
I say, hi, it's me. who is it there on the line?
A voice says, hi, hello, how are you
Well, I guess Im doin fine
He says, it's three a.m., there's too much noise
Don't you people ever wanna go to bed?
Just cause you feel so good, do you have
To drive me out of my head?
I said, hey! you! get off of my cloud
Hey! you! get off of my cloud
Hey! you! get off of my cloud
Don't hang around cause twos a crowd
On my cloud baby
I was sick and tired, fed up with this
And decided to take a drive downtown
It was so very quiet and peaceful
There was nobody, not a soul around
I laid myself out, I was so tired and I started to dream
In the morning the parking tickets were just like
A flag stuck on my window screen
I said, hey! you! get off of my cloud
Hey! you! get off of my cloud
Hey! you! get off of my cloud
Don't hang around cause twos a crowd
On my cloud
Hey! you! get off of my cloud
Hey! you! get off of my cloud
Hey! you! get off of my cloud
Don't hang around, baby, twos a crowd

If you listen closely all Jones is doing is playing Bill's bass line in a higher octave for the verses, and he then arpeggiated Keith's chords for the refrain. Brian was a copyist. He never had an original musical idea in his entire career.
@billpresing5568
@billpresing5568 Год назад
@@williardbillmore5713 Willard, there would not be any rolling stones if not for Brian..He was the creative force, and played about 10 instruments....he just was not rightfully accredited for all of his ideas and acomplishments...in fact he was the man, it was his band...just listen to his bottleneck work on little red rooster,and no expectasions, and all of his harmonica works to name just a few. NO my friend he was far from copying as he was giving the music what it called for,and if anything they learnt from him. A Genius improvisor !!.....It is a cryin' ass Shame that he was Murdered in the prime of his life as he was when he had so much more to give. RIP FRIEND.
@williardbillmore5713
@williardbillmore5713 Год назад
@@billpresing5568 Jones never created anything in his entire career. Slide guitar is about the easiest way to play a guitar and Jones could not improvise ANYTHING. He was strictly a copyist. As far as songwriting goes he brought absolutely nothing to the table. If someone else did not play it first, or show him what to play, it did not exist in his limited repertoire. If someone did murder him it was probably because of his psychopathy. Everyone who knew him well hated him, with good reason.
@billpresing5568
@billpresing5568 Год назад
@@williardbillmore5713 so willard,you are saying its ok to murder someone that has psychological problems HMMMM !! I was always tought to help someone up that is down,and to never leave a man behind as I served in the military 3 years in the Viet-Nam War, and the Cold War in Germany....to not help your Brothers in Arms would be considered of weak charecter. Brians murder has in fact been proven as he was drowned, and Brian was a very strong swimmer, so do you suppose he was pulled down by said such low life pussys...Personally I still choose to stick to my guns that Brian Jones was the driving force of the Rolling Stones..besides many a Genius if not most are psycho anyway and its OK....Oh yeah most people I've spoke with agree. Thanx for the chat.
@williardbillmore5713
@williardbillmore5713 Год назад
@@billpresing5568 I never said anything close to " it's okay that Brian was murdered," but it might be worth exploring why everyone he came in contact with, hated him. I did not "leave Brian behind" as I was living at least 3,000 miles away at the time and I was only 17. What an absurd and stupid thing to say to anyone. Most geniuses are psychopaths? Really? Not true and quite to the contrary of reality. What psychopaths often do is manipulate situations and the people around them to take the credit for what those other people have accomplished. That fits Jones to a tee. Did you know that Brian fathered at least a half dozen offspring and maybe as many as a dozen while he was becoming rich and famous in the Stones and he never lifted a finger to help or support any of them while he lived a life of conspicuous opulence as a self indulgent millionaire. No empathy for anyone ...even his own offspring. Even when the women he used for his unprotected sexual gratification pled with him to do the right thing, he ignored them all. THAT is what psychopaths do. THAT is who Brian Jones was.

My master will settle this for all of you. By sheer volume of recordings and effects afterwards, The Beatles come out on top after only a few years. After the breakup, we see a flurry of albums (RAM, ALL THINGS MUST PASS) - like a musical explosion that was hidden. We saw John break away earlier and then 1971 album. On the other hand, the Rolling Stones kept on "trucking" and eventually outsold the Beatles. Then MJ came along and blew them all out of the water.

@@tillitsdone The Stones were a real band with Brian Jones. the 4 albums you mentioned are all very good. The best in rock altogether? LOL As good as the early Stones were, the Beatles were far superior in songwriting, creativity & vocal prowess. Even Mick Jagger admitted the Stones couldn't come close to the Beatles on vocally. What LASTS in music is MELODY. That's what people remember 50 or more years later. That's where the Beatles have everyone beat hands down.

The Beatles were another level. They were way ahead of their time, very innovative and revolutionized rock music by taking it to another level from a classic rhythm and riff. And not only in music, but they influenced the daily life of people world wide! The Stones didn't bring anything groundbreaking, but they play rock n' roll at its best and make it sound great. Let's not forget that the Beatles opened the doors of British groups in the USA and they were the ones who gave the Stones a boost at the beginning of their career.Hereby, the Stones can never be compared to the Beatles, even though they play rock n roll at their best and we still enjoy them.

It's funny, you listen to Mick Jagger sing this on the radio and he sounds really tough and cool, like he wants to kick ass. But if you ever met him in person you could toss him across the room, he barely weighs 150 pounds soaking wet. The power the music.

No question that the Brian Jones Stones were the best Stones, regardless.

@@giuseppescibilia41Have to agree with you. Though I am a fan of all eras. But with Mick Taylor they really came into their own in a way.

@@ITILII Right - He could just play - Never could create, write or compose anything - to gather a band and give it a name means nothing musically
