The Progressive Dynamics load center in our RV will automatically run the equalization mode at pre-programmed intervals. All I can think of is to put the RV battery on a different charger when we are not traveling.

Are you asking at what voltage to EQ at? EQ'ing is generally done between 2.5 and 2.65 vpc... I'm guessing that you are operating at 48 volts... You will want to EQ between 60, and 64 volts.. How high depends on the damage you've already done to the bank. Frankly if your battery bank is undercharged, or needs to be EQ'ed you should look to adjust your charging parameters first, BEFORE you cook your batteries with an EQ charge.

@@RollsBatteryEngineering wonderful video , extremely informative ..I recently bought four 235ah batteries and have them in series parallel to give me 470ah@12v ..I have 600 w of power coming from the panels , would that be sufficient to charge the batteries properly ? Secondly you mentioned that it's important to have the correct absorbtion time , my controller is set at default 120 mins , is that a correct run time or do I need to adjust ? And lastly you also mentioned that if a battery is only being discharged maybe 20% ( as mine are ) it only needs a full charge every so often , by this do you mean equalization ? Pls excuse the multiple questions as I'm relatively new at this , thanks ....

@@fazimabdool6437 600 watts is okay... depending on how much you load these batteries will determine if the amount of panels is correct. I'm sorry, I can't even begin to tell you if this is enough. Absorb timers are based on the formula .42 X C/20 / Nominal Charge Current... Off hand, you would need about 80 amps of current coming in while in the bulk stage to get the absrob timer to two hours or less. If you are truly only doing 20% cycles... you should focus on getting a full 100% charge at least every 10-14 days. I suggest that you watch some of the other videos, also you can download our manual off our webpage... www.rollsbattery.com.

@@RollsBatteryEngineering ok thanks , one last question , I've been told that if you only discharged a battery 10- 20% everyday it leads to stratification ? If true how do I fix this and my batteries are connected to the mppt and I get loads of sunshine in my country , so based upon my mppt I have 100% charge by noon , is this the 100%charge you are referring to or do you mean an equalization charge every 14 days .. forgive me for my lack of knowledge :)

@@fazimabdool6437 You want to check your SG's at the end of the day... they should be in the 1.265 to 1.275 for a full 100% charge. Our batteries tend to not get Stratified as we use a higher Antimony content and this helps prevent this... If sitting for 4-6 months without a charge this can happen.
