In an exclusive interview with Sky Sports, Romain Grosjean recalls his death-defying crash from last Sunday's Bahrain GP.
He told Sky Sports he was ready to die - but the thought of his children jolted him into saving his own life and and what happened to the late Niki Lauda gave him the strength to escape.

Praising god for this man being able to tell the tale of his ordeal is a complete insult to all the hard work that has been put into making formula 1 safer. Between the halo, the survival cell, improved fireproof overalls, the medical staff and the marshals. All that hard work is the reason he is with us today, so ill be thanking those responsible and leaving god out of this one if that's alright.

I think it was a bad part of the track to use those for sure, but along any straight where the wall is close to the track, they're often the best barriers, as they deal with low angle impacts very well (glancing blows). Obviously in this case he hit the barrier nearly head on, and it couldn't deal with that. Unfortunately a tyre barrier would lead to much worse accidents if anyone went wide and touched the wall at a low angle, as they have a tendency to grab the car and stop it, rather than letting it glance off. But for sure they need to review what barriers are used on this part of the track

I do think that "god" has absolutely nothing to do with that! Btw, your "god" lets millions of innocent newborn babies to die every year! Luckily, the number goes down, year by year, because the progress of science. If it was up to "god", that horrible number would still be tens of millions!
