Thank you. This must be the most fair presentation of catholicism made from a protestant view. If only more protestants were willing to invest and put your effort in seeing catholics as we are, the dialogue to understanding will be more efficient.
If Jesus‘s disciples didn’t believe the bread and wine was transformed into His body and blood, they wouldn’t have abandoned Him in horror. Jesus transformed food before and multiplied it as we know. He said this is His body and blood and He never reiterated this point and clarified that it wasn’t meant to be taken literally, and He also didn’t utter the word “represent”. The food was transformed before their eyes as we see in many different instances throughout the Bible.
