Visit and support the Torre Argentina Roman Cat Sanctuary (www.gattidirom...) in Rome, Italy. It is in the archaeological site of Largo di Torre Argentina (corner of Via Florida and Via di Torre Argentina).
Wonderful documentary film! The cats are adorable and the sanctuary is doing such wonderful work. Now the sanctuary is being threatened! Please sign the petitions to protect the sanctuary and the good work of these volunteers - Save the Cats of Rome!
Actually the wound was being treated and it could not be covered. The volunteer came there every day just to take special care of the cat and stayed there at least 1-2 hours. The cat looks sad but it was being well looked after.
This was the first place we visited when we arrived in Roma. We went inside and made a donation. Loved it, they are doing a great job. The theatre ruins are here where Julius Caesar was assassinated.
Was told years ago that the majority of the felines were strays wandering the city. The sanctuary is private and received no support financially from the city or state. Please incorporate a clickable donation tab for us foreigners to aid & assist. Thanks!.
Nice place where i have been volunteer for many years and designer of their logo, lot of nice work for cats done, please visit when in roma and offer a donation .thanks to them.murie
domestic cats are originally from north Africa/middle east. Italians brought them to Rome. Interestingly the cat sanctuary is at the same spot julius ceasar was killed.
I'm not sure how to feel about this place. Maybe they mean well, but I doubt it. The cats don't look healthy or happy. One of the cats was even hiding in a litter box. This is not normal cat behavior. I've lived with cats my whole life and understand how they are. They're also feeding them the wrong foods. Look up catinfo.org/ Healthy cats aren't overweight and don't throw up.
The cats are abandoned and most of them are taken to other families, unfortunately there still is a large group of cats with issues or too old that are not taken and cannot live anymore without continuous assistance and they indeed look bad,
