Hi author lean and author loo❤❤ good to see you again. Here are some theroies for this song. IU dedicated lilac album for her 20's. Lilac song is title song so obviously this song is about her career journey of her 20's. The loco pilot of the train was the same guy who was in good day mv playing instruments. It symbolises the impact of the song during her 20s. Actually good day gave IU the title of national singer. The gangsters represent controversies when she was in middle of twenties. Many haters were demanding to cancel her ( she was filming my mister that time and want to back off so the controversies don't affect the career of other actors) but she fought the situation and all the shame thrown to her and paved her own way to success( food was served after fight) The animation part everything was purple the tree, sky, grass. Actually it's the girl in purple dress who was wearing lilac sunglasses( purple is her favourite color ). When she removed the glasses everything is back to it's normal color. She put it in the box with some diaries and probably burried it in the soil under lilac tree. Lilac glasses and diaries belongs to her 20's and she is keeping them aside to start a new journey. Her confused look after the journey shows her twenties were like a dream to her but when she saw confetti on her hair she realised it was not a dream. Every success every achievement was real. At the end when train left she was a little sad as her twenties ended but a new train arrived her expressions changed into nervousness and at the final moment she smiled she is hopeful for her thirties.
