I think it is called the red lake,because in the fall,the leaves fall on the lake water ,and because of the oxidation,the water become s red.Only in the fall,before the winter.
About that dog in the beginning I once visited a place in Romania, high up in the mountains, and they had 2 guard dogs. One was a girl german shepherd. The other was another half german shepherd girl, but half wolf. Seems the old lady had some desires and she free roamed around the cabins... she found a mate in a wild wolf. There were no other male dogs in the area. 2 cabins very high in the mountains. In an area known to have free roaming wolfs, that have become more and more domesticated over the years. It's not inconceivable. The resulting dog was freaking incredible. In speeds and stamina and intelligence. When I was there one of the times she was 6 months old. And already was beating her mother at everything. Was super careful with the tourists. And just butted herself into everyones lives and food. She would not let you leave the cabin on walks without her supervision. And she was just relentless. One day I had this big stick, that she had to take away from me, and when she clamped on it, she didn't let go. I was a kid too, and pretty stubborn as well. I dragged her by the stick for 2 hours. And eventually I gave up the stick. She was so proud of it, and had to show everyone she beat me eventually, and one minute later she let go of the stick as well. It's the best dog I ever met. Had such positive energy. Always willing to play or eat or cuddle. Whatever. She was prolly tired of the same old guy living there, and the other dog (her mom). All she had was tourists.
What a brilliant story. Thank you for sharing. It's hard to say what Misha is crossed with but I would guess she is half GSP. I couldn't think of another breed that has those colours and her size. She is coming onto 7 months now and she is about 25kg. So she is going to big about the size of a male GSP when fully grown I should think. Hope you are okay and all is well. All the best 👍
The gorge and it's surroundings kind of reminded me of back home in the UK. Beautiful green hills everywhere. Romania is well worth a visit of you ever get chance. Best of luck with the new pup. Hope he gets better for you! 👍❤️
Welcome to Romania. In the Sibiu area you can travel on Transfagarasan or Transalpina roads. Jeremy Clarkson said after crossing the Transfăgărăşan that he walked on "the most spectacular road in the world". In Romania live over 60% of the bear population of Europe. You often see them on the roadsides or on the outskirts of mountain towns looking for food. Be careful. In summer you can also visit the Black Sea coast and the Danube Delta. Have a nice trip !

We visited Balae Lac and the Transfagarasan highway yesterday and although the top half was closed because of the snow, we still really enjoyed it and took the cable car to see the road a the top. Thank you as always John. We met in the US nearly 11 years ago working in a summer camp. All 5 dogs are great and your right. It does cost a fortune to feed them! Especially seeing as they won't eat the dry food on its own. We have to mix in some wet food with it! 😂 All the best! 👍❤️

Glad to see you two are enjoying our country!:) It is called the Red Lake because of some local legends where some people died and their blood got in the lake. So, it doesn’t matter that his water is green, the red title comes from the legends. :)
Brilliant. We love it here in Romania. The next video we explore the Brasov region and we are currently on the outskirts of Transfagarasan which will be another video 😅 Anyway, thank you so much for the information! The signs were only in Romanian and we couldn't find any information online. It is a very beautiful location and the gorge around the corner was amazing to. Unfortunately it was just too windy to get the drone up, so that will keep that in our memories! 😍👍

Well, you have chosen the worst season to visit those places. Try to see them on autumn when the vegetation is green, yellow, brown and reddish. You'll love it.
We were there for the summer too. I just haven't had time to put the rest of the videos together yet. It's also nice to see these places without 1000's if people. I let my imagination make everything green 😂👍
Hello! Welcome to my country Romania! I wish you to enjoy your stay in my country. I am from the extreme south of the countryside in Romania. But I definitely have to say visiting the mountains is the best decision for tourists and travelers because there is where nature truly hides the beautiful treasures. If you can I recommend to visit the city Sibiu, it's a charming city and the people are nice. I have found memories of the city from years ago. In the countryside in the south there is not much to see other than us the local farmers. And villages are slowly starting to get modernized. If you are not vegan or vegetarian then for food I definitely recommend sarmale our most famous national dish. Other good dishes are ciorbă de perișoare and also mici.

So we will definitely visit there in the next few days. Then we will move down to the south and explore there too. We have about 3 weeks left here and we already don't want to leave!! 😅👍❤️

Brilliant update guys. You are definitely the new Alan Whikker & Judith Chalmers! I visited Romania in 1983 as a kid with my parents when Ceaucescu was in charge. Flew into Constanta and went to the beach resort of Mamaia. 1. I recall statues and posters of Ceaucescu everywhere 2. Old fashioned trams. 3. Food poisoning from the hotel! 4. The currency (Lei) was that up and down. Bread 50p one day, next £2.50 - they issued food vouchers! 5. Men knocking on hotel room door selling tights! 6. People queuing for basic food when the shop was empty. I'm so pleased to see you can now visit these places - under Communism you were only allowed to visit certain areas. Thank you Jonathan 😂👍 We were actually just recently talking about Sylw's accent. She was curious if the people watching could understand her clearly. I bet it's changed some since then. We have been speaking to some local people, who actually said they preferred Romania in that period. They said the people were much kinder to each other and the community spirit was high! 🤷 Anyway, we are not just saying this but Romania is turning out to be one of our favourite places. We thought it might be similar to Abania in terms of the dogs and litter but it's quite the opposite. The landscape and roads are also unbelievable. Not to forget the people have been so welcoming and very accommodating. Which is rare when people see the campervan 😅 Take care and all the best! 👍

@@jonathangoddard3426 actually it was a lot of austerity but with a real sense of sovereignty and economic independence. We replaced that with the new economic imperialism today being just a colony happy with the glass balls of the western prosperity. We did some sacrifices for a better future until the financial world leadership understood that romania will not feed anymore the American banks and, as Barack Obama said about the China, we would not help anymore America to keep up them good life standards from the increasing interests of the American banks. After '90 al we built in 30 years was break down in the next 10 years after the American-Russian (agreement) "revolution". Today everyone understood that was a foolish politic to produce everything cheap in China because we will have to begg later everything from them. What still can be seen in Romania is a very few of what could be saved in '90 with a good conservation politic in terms of cultural and economic heritage.

Its the easiest way as you can see everything in its flight path. If you have a DJI drone you could also use the 'Quickshots' tab. It completely controls itself with that 😅👍❤️

Red Lake was created about 200 years ago when a big rock from the Ucigașul peak slide down and blocked the valley where two small rivers met each other and formed the lake.

I did her a count also she had just the 3, so needs some practice but I’m sure you can nurture her to be the best she can be. Hello my mate. I hope you are well. We absolutely love Romania. Thinking about it as a permanent residence in the near future. It's the opposite of what we first expected. But yeah, I seem to be slacking a bit on the 'Beautiful' count and falling heavy on a jovial 'anyway!'. But I will make sure to stick a few extra beautiful's in the next video! 😅 As for the Bears. They are scary fellas aren't they 😂 I read that in 'general' they are scared of dogs though. So with the 25 I knock about with I should be fine. But imagine coming across one of those bastards in the middle of a forest. They don't have weakness 🤣 A Grizzly Bear is about 8ft and they weigh around 80 stone. They can also shift 50 yards in 3 seconds. I move like a fridge freezer. So I think I would have to go in with the head down windmilling. Not a chance I am playing dead! I would probably drown in a mixture of my own shit and piss 💩😂
I'm a little confused. In one image you're driving through the snow. In the next, Sylvia is dressed for the tropics. And you said it was early spring. Can you provide more detail about when you visited and when you recommend others to visit?
We were in Romania in April 2022. The videos are from the same week! 😅 The snow is high up in the mountains and the sunshine is at low altitude. Personally, I would recommend April/May before the tourists start to come in. Sorry for the late reply 🫣
You are a lucky man! Found a cute girlfriend that has a guy's sense of humor that's perfect combo and probably more rare than an unicorn! Hope you enjoyed your Romania adventures but is a pitty you visited it during winter. Should have came in late spring/summer so you could see it all green. Oh well maybe that is an excuse to come again:)

If we got a few people agreeing I would do it but we shall see. Oh and the knife makes me feel better but I already have my eye on a larger one I saw in Bulgaria! 🤣 That knife also saved my life on the way down from that last mountain. I slipped and managed to stab it in the ground. Looking at your new puppy 🐶 your going to need a new van. Also don't over walk her whilst her legs are developing please 🙏 Also she'll need about 8oz of "cheese" a day for calcium. Need it for good bone development apparently
Thank you Julie. She seems to have stopped growing a bit recently. I imagine she will be about the same size as a GSP. But yeah we spoke to the vet about her diet and he recommend a good puppy food for her. She only gets short walks. She is very calm and relaxed, unlike Pepper (the black dog). She can't sit still for more than a few minutes. They are like best friends now! 😅
