Portugal will be playing the Springboks in South Africa later this year. Great initiative I think to give the smaller teams exposure outside of the world cup year
@@johannesweidemann2578And they have been invited to play England too. Unfortunately, it's only their development squad as it's during these championships, but the big nations need to invite these teams to increase their competitiveness. We (European Rugby) failed Romania in the 80's and early 90's as they were beating the likes of Ireland and France
@@RU-vid_hates_my_name Romania were holders of the Raeburn Shield in 84. Let's hope second tier rubgy continues to develop and gets the right opportunities.
@@stefanrusu6597 I totally agree....I want to go to more away games in Europe other than France and Italy ( not that I'm complaining about going there, lol)
They should return the Six Nations to Five Nations (sorry, Italy); then create a second tier of Five Nations. Winner gets the opportunity to challenge to move up.
Portugal has been playing the most beautiful rugby in this Championship for the last two years. Kudos to them. In the Spanish rugby forum that I read we just have words of praise and admiration for them. They have been doing a great job from their under age teams. Well done, neighbours!👍🏻
Congratulations to Portugal 🇵🇹 and well done to Romania 🇷🇴 for putting on a good display, I look forward to the rest of this tournament, a big thank you to all the people involved for their hard work in bringing us this competition, so wrong that these nations don't get a chance to compete with the 6 nations teams , best wishes for the future to all our European rugby cousins from England 🏴
We watch you play at Twickenham, or at the Aviva, it's always packed. I mean, we don't have the crowds or the infrastructure teams like England or Ireland deserve...maybe we could play your A teams, that would be great.
Perhaps a Rugby Euro Championship every 4 years between World Cups as in football? Top 16 in Europe 4 groups of 4. It may not be ideal but at least it will give the Tier 2 nations exposure to the top teams and hopefully raise the profile of Rugby in those nations.
OMG the way Portugal play by switching between fast-pass to quick-kick is beautiful rugby ... I love how they play! Hope to see them grow and be contenders in next world cup again!
As an English rugby fan...im loving watching these highlights of the European rugby championship 2nd tier. It's good to see nations such as Portugal advancing in quality, and to see they have been unvited by England and South Africa to play tests. I understand that only a Portuguese development squad can come to England to play an England Saxons squad...but what an exposure to professional rugby they will get. I hope European rugby doesn't make the mistakes they did with Romania in the 80's and 90's, when they were beating the lukes of Ireland and France
Thankyou, first time watching Portugal since the world cup, more attacking intent in one game than the whole of week 2 of the six nations. Accepting their is a difference in quality but how refreshing is this to watch - both teams scoring some well crafted tries - fantastic .
I’ts the first Time I Watch a match of the B tournament and I’m not decived! What an incredible match for both teams, congratulations to Portugal ! Continué growing !
From an artist fan, well done to both teams. But a big shout out to Portugal. First game I've seen them play since the World Cup. Such an exciting team to watch. Go Os Lobos..🤘🏻🏉🤘🏻
Iv rarely more confident faces than those of the Portuguese, as they walked out , romania are the bigger unit but the Portuguese knew from the whistle they were gonna boss the game ,very entertaining.

Eu também gosto muito de râguebi, vivo em França há quase trinta anos e aprendi a gostar deste desporto, e é verdade que esta seleção nacional é muito empolgante Abraço para si e amanha vamos apoiar o Sporting@@roberttrindade7238
Some terrific talent and potential on display here. It's high time competitions like the URC admitted franchise teams from these second-tier European nations. Let the South Africans stay at home and develop their own Aftican League instead of subsidizing them to rack up ludicrous air mileage between fixtures, and invest in the future of the game on the continent.
Portugal already has potential to invest more into the sport since they have money, especially if they're this good right now. Commiserations Romania, hopefully you guys get back to kicking butt like Georgia and sort yourselves out somehow.
@@seanofarrell8896 Yeah that would be cool. They already also got a system to ensure not too many games are played and local rivalries stay called the shields.
the coach is experimenting. Many new players. The teams that played belgium, poland and romania were all different. He said he doesn't care for immediate results as what's important right now is understanding what players are available and what they can do.
Data viitoare va fi mai bine, fără îndoială . Băieții noștri atât au putut de data asta. Sigur că, cu toții am dorit sa vedem o altă partidă, însă capul sus stejari.
World Rugby should pay close attention to these 2nd tier teams...can you imagine what countries like Spain or Germany could bring to the game in the future?
Not only in this game but in all modern games we see, the reserve players "warming up " in t he opponent's in goal area, Baintantly against the laws of the game. Adds a certainty of bias, and potential involvement in the most crucial part of the game. Every referree should demand that the EXTRA PLAYERS immediately leave the playing area under penalty
The Romanian drop goal was risky because the kicker wasn't in the pocket. You need more depth to drop kick to avoid a charge down. That and Romania's scramble defence was short of coverage.
@@iteamy There’s a possibility of expansion but only to a team that can bring the required financial resources which Tier 2 teams don’t have. Admitting them would weaken the tournament financially as they would have to be subsidised. Promotion/Relegation is out of the question and won’t happen.
I can't believe it, Romania once a feared team a stumbling rock for great nations now can win only against Liechtenstein and Vatican,s team of priests, what a shame. I am Romanian but I am ashamed of the stage of actual rugby. The corrupt federation should step down all together, cancel all the international involvement of senior team, and start the reconstruction from the scratching point with juniors. What a disgrace.. utterly disrespectful for illustrious predecessors.
Unfortunately those illustrious predecessors were funded by the communist regime in government that is why they were so good. Effectively pro in the amateur era. You don’t want to return to those days surely?
Not only did we eliminate them from the World Cup but we easily won a test against them afterwards. Do you think they could win that game against Fiji? The Eagles have to improve a lot...
