There are MANY marimba players who have inspired me, motivated me, impressed me, and dazzled me, but few have moved me *emotionally* and touched my *heart* as strongly as Conrado has..... In my opinion, Conrado has an innate understanding of the emotional and story-telling power of each note of a piece, an insight into the innate voices and power of the marimba, through both talent and many hours of practice, that few of us will ever be able to grasp ....
Hey man! Are you doing a really fast independent roll in your left hand and a double vertical roll in your right, or are they both really fast double vertical rolls?
Mike R Phone ladies it’s okay, you’re both pretty. I would argue that the mallet choice matters less than how you actually use them. In my opinion, the multi-tonal Van Sice’s are the most superior mallet on the market. But if you can’t actively control the multiple different colors that you can get out of those mallets, they’re not any better than any other mallet or similar quality build. A bad choice in mallets can make an otherwise great performance suboptimal, but a great performance will never happen if the player can’t perform the piece well regardless of mallet choice.
