@@raynel7679 the dude deserves credit. He had a lot of passes most wr would die for. Not a huge fan of Washington but I think the tape highlights penix just as much if not more than Rome here
There is nothing glaring about him but in the since of he looks solid and look like he does his job without having to look fancy. Shoutout to the QB as well
@@Colton2418 I trust his mental make up over Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels or Drake Maye. The only rival in terms of skill and mental make up mesh is JJ McCarthy but JJ could be a bust especially since Haurbagh hid a lot of his flaws
@@createluxuryliving8136 you saying you don’t trust the mental makeup of Jayden Daniels and Caleb Williams just told everyone that you only listen to the media and don’t actually do ur research. The Media loves Penix idk why but they do, for example, Michael Penix had the luxury of throwing to 3 nfl level receivers and nobody cares while the media but uses Daniels having 2 nfl level receivers as a negative and a flaw to his game.
@@Colton2418 Huh?? Who said anything about the Media?? I trust my eyes on how Penix throws, his numbers this season in Washington and how well he played even in the National Championship game in a loss. Outside of Odunze who are the other 3 NFL receivers he had?? Caleb Williams doesn't pass the smell test and if I listened to the Media as you unintelligently stated wouldn't I want Caleb over Penix?? Up until Penix pro day everyone had him as a 2nd round pick and Drake Maye as the 2nd or 3rd best QB in the draft. Just say you are not smart and I can excuse your ignorance before spewing garbage as a response. 🤡🤡🤡
@@createluxuryliving8136 wtf? You don’t even do any research!!! He played horrible in the National Championship! Missing wide open receivers and just struggling period
The Giants I think is goin to grab Odunze at 6 and grab Penix in second round.Theyll already have chemistry playin with each other do that'll be perfect
I feel like the only weakness in his game, and this depends on how you view it, is he really doesn’t get a ton of yards after the catch. Which might not matter. Thoughts?
How much YAC does Mike Evans get? Not many 6'3" WRs dancing around all over the field, like slot guys do. I dont think it matters that much unless you're a guy that has to shed guys to get open, ya know
@@TheEaglesGuru Odunze? I think he’s great at route running. It may seem like he’s not because Penix rarely moves out of the pocket. So assuming he loses the protection, Penix has nowhere to go. Separation? I’d give him a “B” at best. He’s good at contested catches, but he just happens to be at the right place right time
@@DayneOJets2 idk many NFL receivers. I’m more of a college guy. But my best example for this is Tez Johnson. He gets short yardage catches, but shifty to get another 5 to 10 yards
I think the hype might be justified. Watched the kid stay late at the combine just trying to perfect a cone drill that he really didnt need to. Great work ethic and the play on the field would indicate that his skills should translate to the NFL. I think the kid has a real chance at being a very productive receiver in the NFL. I think top 10 might be a bit high as I see him as more of a very reliable and solid #2 more than as a true number 1 receiver. But we're all just guessing here, who the hell knows.
Kinda hard to justify the hype of a 'solid #2', as there shouldn't be much hype at all, no? But yeah, he has great hands but he doesn't look that fast and he doesn't get a lot of YAC, so I'm with you there. People are saying he's a top 10 pick?
@MoMoMyPup10 Agreed. #2 type receives shouldn't go top 10, but when I say hype I'm really referring to anyone justifiably going in the first 3 rounds. I understand most people probably tune out the draft after rd 1, but I get hyped for day 2 and day 3 picks as well. Probably a bit of a different use of the word than others are using when referring to this kid tho, to be fair.
His other film showcases insane football IQ, creating space & opportunities for his team mates. Dudes amazing at contested catches too. Can see him going to the Chargers or some other team in desperate desperate need of receivers lol
@@AsianGreatness Nabers comps pretty closely to Ja'Marr Chase lol. Odunze rarely does much if he's contacted off the line. Nabers is a slam dunk pick if he falls to 6
I see why they compare him to Davante Adams. Reminds me of Keenan Allen too with the route running. Not the flashiest but will be reliable. Wouldn't mind the Chargers drafting him.
I watched every husky game this year. I dont care about the YAC. There were many times where grubb didnt have a great playcall, and penix wasnt accurate with his throw, but odunze used his athleticism and awareness to make a great catch, salvaging a drive and bailing out penix and grubb. He will do everything you want a WR1 to do: giving a qb a reliable target who will turn chicken shit into chicken salad and move the sticks
Man their offensive coordinator is a mad scientist. The concepts they run will beat every coverage if the qb is not on the ground in 3 seconds. Don’t get it twisted though. Penix is going through his progressions
IMO, Odunze is the best receiver in this class. Hear me out. I'll make it simple. #1. Great ball catcher. Tracks the ball the entire time. #2. Good speed. (He's no Harrison Jr but that's basically Harrisons special. He burns everyone) #3. He's physical. (Especially off the line of scrimmage) Big body does help. #4. Subpar route running. (In the slot or outside he's confusing CB's and catches almost everything from anywhere out the sky. Harrison Jr is going to have lock down CB's at NFL level. I'd rather have a guy that can beat them all with multiple qualities instead of a taller Desaun Jackson that only catches deep balls. ( Most of his highlights btw are burning dudes and having hands to catch a moon ball.) Again, it's MY opinion and would love to hear yours. P.S. it doesn't make Harrison Jr any less of a awesome and special Wideout.
Not saying he sucks but I just dont see the top 10 hype tbh he’s tackled by the first guy every single time instantly by DBs who will be working class citizens. Yes he’s big & has some skill but i just dont see the separation or yac to be worth a super high pick.
Your not watching film correctly if you think that 100% , this man separates enough and there is reason he has the highest catch percentage on contest catches by like 30% more than the closest person , and his successful rate when targeted is as high as Marvin Harrison Jr , also he isn’t explosive after the catch but he definitely is a custom to making the first guy miss or simply breaking the tackle , if you truly watched film you would notice that he isn’t a explosive ball carrier but a really physical one , cut the tape on one more time you will see something different , the word that comes to mind is SMOOTH when watching Rome
@@B2Real2kwe will see. Im not calling him a bust i just dont see the super high pick. I like gamebreaking players that can score from anywhere & have to be doubled. He doesnt strike me as a guy that will command that or outrun guys when he has the ball.
@@LLSmooveH so you simply like only highlight plays lol , all I need to hear not eveyone is Tyreek hill gang , this guy will be problem tho but it’s yo opinion at tha end of tha day
Pros -Ball tracking -hands -route running -physical Cons -explosiveness -speed -separation kills - YAC If you ask me I’d say middle of the first round would be a better fit then top 10 I think they’re are better WRs with more upside nabers #1 on the list but I say guys like Keon are better comps not saying any of them are bad they are all great just not what I look for in a true WR1 if you can’t separate in college nfl is 10x faster gunna have to figure out was to get open on guys like sauce jaire Joey porter whiterspoon etc
Chargers fans looking at prospects. Why is Nabers rated higher? These catches look more impressive. Chargers don't need another slot WR. Almost all these highlights are on the outside. That is what we need. Put QJ in the slot for those short quick hitters. Is it the off the field stuff that brings him down? I think Odunze is our guy.
@@xfallenphoenix lol it sure do cause my receiver is way better than yours so you keep the 6’3 and make those contested plays I rather just blow by people 😂
His body language, play style, and build really reminds me of Keenan Allen. Has the flashes for sure🤔. edit (this dude's abilities just screams KA13)😭 For my Chargers at 5 either MHJ, Brock Bowers, or Nabers. Odunze is real nice but idk
Then you don't know football 🏈 offensive line more important you have to protect Quarterback and I'll take Joe Atl or Olu Fashanu over Rome Odzune Rome Odzune doesn't separate or give you big explosive players after catch I'll get a Wide Receiver in 2nd round since it's a deep class
@@StoneCold2k57 Rome would be a perfect replacement for dhop imo..I'm not sold on ola ... actually like some of the other first round tackles better than him tbh
@@dimesoul2020 DeAndre Hopkins don't need no replacement so try again he had 1000 yards and 7 touchdowns last season he needs a draft peace on other side of him and I'm not sold on Rome Odzune I wouldn't pick him #7 I'd draft a offensive lineman at that spot and draft a Wide Receiver in 2nd round of a deep class
@@TerrellCooper respectable, Bowers is a game changer as well, I’m a Commanders fan but always had a soft spot for the Chargers bc of the 2000’s teams (Loved LT and Rivers) I think Herbert and Odunze would be a top 5 QB WR duo day 1 tho.
So he’s perfect for the #3 spot the bears need? Thanks for the vote of confidence. :) the bears are now stacked. I give it 3 weeks and Williams will be out for the season. The Bears have good first line talent, but anyone gets hurt…they’re scrooby dooed offensively. Their defense just continues to get deeper and deeper, but man… that offense is only around 45% complete. Most important part of an offense is the line… not the qb, not the rb, and not the receiver. They get nothing if no one can competently block. If the Bears don’t get their heads out of their rear ends, they’re in for another bad season. No big deal though… next offseason, they’ll bring in the line they should have brought in first. You know… after these rookies already have ptsd. That’s the Bears backwards way of doing things. Always the bridesmaid, never the bride. Kill the talent, then bring in security. Imagine a city doing that. Getting rid of the security and letting everyone get ptsd from crime, then bringing in security to pretend they’re doing something after causing the mess they started. Oh wait… that’s also Chicago.
If the bears take Caleb with 1 they need to then take odunze with 9. Trade Justin for a 2 and get oline with that pick. FS in the third and the rest of the team needs through draft and free agency.
The YAC is my only concern…besides the screen passes he gets tackled fairly easily and most catches are contested. I’d pass on him if I were the Bears. Take Bowers 80% of his yards are after first contact.
He really had an amazing year with the Washington Huskies as he had 81 catches for 1,428 yards and 13 touchdowns. He enjoys playing under Michael Penix Jr. The Huskies made it to the National Championship game.
Anyone else feel like there's a little too much hype on this guy? Looks kinda slow in his acceleration & cuts. Looks like Amari Cooper coming out of college
