Rome is a city that I had always dreamt of going to but not really thinking that I ever would! 6 years ago I found myself there, not only in Rome but in a place of my childhood dreams, the Trevi Fountain. It was so beautiful and the moment was so perfect, I found myself just staring and crying with pure joy and happiness to be there. I will be back again, soon!! ❤

Two small things - naturalmente! - if you go to Piazza del Popolo go up the stairs to the Borghese gardens and the Galleria Borghese with the incredible INCREDIBLE collection of Bernini statues. And in Bernini's Piazza in front of San Pietro you can easily find the two round marble circles marked "Centro del Colonnato" - if you stand on them, all the pillars line up perfectly!

Italy changed me. My daughter was living in Vicenza for several years and I was able to spend some time in Italy. I loved taking the bus, by myself, and discovering lots of hidden gems. I came back home with my heart filled with joy. If you are thinking of going...don't put it off. I'm physically unable to travel now because of several accidents. So, go play. You won't ever regret it. Sending loving and peace-filled thoughts to everyone.

Thank God for all the water fountains in Rome. I was there in April once and thought it would be cool. They were having a heat spell and was in the 80s and 90s. Drank from the water fountains all over Rome. Super cold and delicious. And that apartment. Perfect location to tour Rome!!!! Perfetto!

My husband and I are in Rome now. Married for 16 years, together over 19 years. First time here. Unfortunately not used to the humidity and makes me sick so we’ve had to go out early, 6am and come back by 12pm and then go back out around 7pm-8pm. Trying to enjoy as best we can.

Alessio when we are in Italy, for drying our laundry I always hang it on the rack and then put a stand up oscillating fan in front of it - dries usually in only a few hours. Thanks for showing us the washing machine - I've never seen that kind before so if I see one, I'll know what to do.

The Steps, the Fountain and the Sistine Chapel, of course. Enjoy. But, hands down, emotionally the biggest kick was the Coloseum. Standing down in pits and thinking of lions, Christians, gladiators....what a super rush.

We just went to Restorante da Michele on this recommendation and I had the Cacio e Pepe, and my girlfriend had the Carbonara. Both were fantastic (mine was better) and the house red wine was great too 😊. Also both had the Tiramisu. Absolutely delicious!! Thanks for the tip!

Just curious if there was an iron in your room? When leaving clothes (especially jeans) to air dry they wrinkle and get crispy. You need to pass an iron/ferro if they can’t be machine dried.

Have never been to a restaurant in Rome i did not like and i've been there 4 times. Never eat where tourists go but rather look for smaller family run Italian establishments where the natives eat away from tourist americanized places. Rome also has a lot of food choices and not just italian fare. Had best Vietnamese and Chine food there because they get a lot of Asian visitors and there are also Indian food places closer to the Rome Termini. Much better and tastier tha in U S because they use freash local veggies, grains and ingredients....best ever with great prices and portions. I like to mix it up and frequent tasty Asian restaurants there as well as the fantastic traditional Italian ones. Also, best time to line up to see St. Peter's Basilica is early in the morning. It is the line to go through security and it does go reasonably quick because the church is massive and the numbers for entry are not restricted!

What did you really think of Trapizzino? All vloggers seem to go there and it’s all over Instagram. Is it worth the hype? I’m based in Rome for the next three months and was asking a guy who grew up in Trastevere what he thought of it. He kind of rolled his eyes and said “it’s junk food for tourists. Hardly any Romans would ever go there.”

I agree it is junk! but is not it's not bad ,is not a dish that you absolutely have to try but for many it's cheap food and many people think that Italy is just pasta and pizza and therefore they don't know what to order and when something explodes in instagram people go there! I advise you to try it without great expectations and YOU get an idea only if you have time at Rome like you three moths! ciao da Alessio

@@ThePasinis, Thanks for the note Alessio. We’re over in Trastevere pretty often so if the line isn’t long, I’m thinking we’ll check it out one of these days. A lot of vlogs were making it out to be this must visit kind of place, but locals seem to have a different take on it. Maybe I’ll take an Italian friend there when we meet for aperitivo in a couple of weeks in Trastevere. I don’t know if you will agree, but I’ve had this conversation with Italians before and I think they’ve generally agreed that most Italians do not like modifications and something new is oftentimes dismissed for not being right or even good very quickly. I say if it tastes good, it’s good, whether the recipe is a year old or a thousand years old. Anyway, enjoy your travels and maybe we’ll see you around Roma.

We have watched so many videos preparing for our trip to Rome. This one is possibly the best. It’s not over produced. It doesn’t have the blasting background music. They just roll the camera and let the beauty of the city do the work while dropping good tips. Keep up the good work.

Allessio, thank you so very much for your education on not wearing a bag facing the street for theft prevention. Also, using the washer was priceless. An earlier episode teaching us how to use a bidet was priceless. I loved this episode so much. Jesse, you are a delight! Kudos, for learning Italian. I have a question. How do you make dinner reservations at a favorite restaurant if you speak little to no Italian? Maybe, cover that in a future video? Thank you both. We spent three days in Rome in October (a stop on our cruise). I am the one who is retired and always dreamed of going to Italy. Sadly…I got very ill while in Italy. I HAVE to go back to truly experience the sites. Trevi Fountain and The Colosseum were two tours, but I was so sick that I couldn’t fully enjoy those places. The heat and the walking just about did me in… Thank you for taking us along on your adventures. I have a renewed passion for returning. Grazie!

Thank you for these amazing videos! They’re so fun and relaxing at the same time. I’m living vicariously through you two. I’m a caregiver to my elderly mom and I can’t leave her to go on vacations. You take me to places I wish I could visit. My last vacation was 8 years ago in Rome and I had a great time! This video brought back so many great memories. So thank you! ❤ Also, I’m curious to know where the locals live… would they live in the same building that you stayed at or are they mostly turned into Airbnbs? Do the elderly with walking disabilities live on first levels? Those stairs and cobblestone streets would be challenging for them.

I think after watching the videos that I would want to go to small towns that are very beautiful and peaceful, with cafes where I can get pastries and coffee, gelato, and delicious food. I don’t feel too keen about the large crowds and lines. But that was a great tip about going in the winter if I do want to do the tourist destinations

I went to Italy in 2008, Rome being one of the main stays. I was 18 and was amazed but didn’t soak in the beauty and culture of the small things. I went to so many small towns but can’t remember a single name. If anyone travels anywhere take a journal! Even if it’s to write down the town/city and places you went. I wish I would have 🖤🖤 thank you for these videos! It’s like a flash back 15 years.

In Canada, we can buy Roma Pass before leaving for the visit. It gets us in without the line. As for the Vatican, there is a separate pass to get in without the lineup. Great video

Best way to enter St-Peter's Cathedral is to buy tickets for the Vatican Museum, because you have a special exit there which allows you to cut that crazy line (you're in the Cathedral in a fraction o the time you would need). Personal expérience, you're welcome... ;-)
