Seun , Tinubu knew exactly what was going on under Buari and he was ready to do better and if a person is not an economist, the only thing such a person would do is to assemble capable hands .Those he initially put to gether must have done a false calculation .He relied on trusted hands and they goofed .He shouldnt keep quite too long, let him come out and explain the sitiations on the ground .He is a good politician but not a technocrat. We all faulted Abacha by not using political intuition, however , Professor Aluko tutored him not to fall prey to Western shylocks .Prof. Aluko told him not to mess with Nigeria currently. For the brief time Abacha spent as Head of state , the currency was pegged to 22 Naira to 1 dollar . That enrraged the shylocks !! What changed since the death of Abacha? Nigerians in collusion with greedy ones ,looted and looted the treasury .Even Buari couldnt stopped the loot. Look at Jonathan who looked away when his Petroleum minister caged him and ran away with hard currency. Can anyone account for those looting by many of the governors under Obasanjo , Jonathan and Buari? The politicians , the civil servants and the professionals all had their field days with people's money.Just think of Chinese government beheading corrupt officials and the European countries exposing looters or talk about the Isrealis who will ban politicians for practicing their trades and keeping less than a thousand currency in any foreign accounts unless you are a businessman . Yes, Tinubu government will see increase in revenues but their water will pass Gari and the next two years , the cloud over the administration would still be as thick as creating thunder bolts and stormy weather . The cry of the opposition would continue to be louder and the Labor would still not be reasonable in their demands .Let them secure Juicy salaries for the workers!!
