@@antoniolanzo4392 I thought it was an odd copy of MacMillan´s, but after reading your comment, MacMillan´s choregraphy (which I love) took a lot from (or had a good deal of inspiration from) Lavrovsky´s....did it not??
@@martinl19 of course, MacMillan was at the English premiere of the ballet at the Royal Opera House in 1956, when the Bolshoi had its first tour outside of the Soviet Union (you can find here on RU-vid the full Giselle with Ulanova and gala excerpts from that exact tour!). The Royal Opera House wanted to initially have also Lavrovsky’s Romeo and Juliet in their repertoire, but soviets didn’t allow them. So MacMillan came up with his version a few years later, and if you can definitely find in the ballet a lot of inspiration that came from the original production, which he saw live and mesmerized the whole British audience.
