Questions to the West Coast Latinos. How popular is Romeo's music and Bachata music overall out in the West Coast? I was always under the impression that this genre was not all all popular there, after all, Mexicans are the majority out there, but this video sort of proved me wrong. Would a bachata artist like him sell out the Staples center or the Greek? or that's something only Mexican artists do out there when it comes to Spanish language music? Any input would be appreciated. I'm from NYC and obviously he is hugely popular here since this is his hometown.
The majority of Latino culture over here is def Mexican (I am Hispanic of Mexican decent - from the Bay Area) however, Romeo's music is pretty popular over here.. and Bachata in general among the Latino community. I've gone to countless Bachata, Reggaeton, Merengue, Salsa concerts and we have radio stations dedicated to just that type of music. So from what I've seen and have been around him and is music is all welcomed w/open arms..
Well, many non-Hispanics, especially White people get annoyed when we pronounce Spanish names correctly in our own language. They want to hear the 'Murican pronunciation, that's why Mario says it like that.
