this video is an unboxing of Romeo y Julieta Belvederes box of 25 cigars from ENE 2021. This can benefit from a little more age to work out some of the tannic/ammonia taste and bring out the sugars and other flavors.
A good basic Cuban cigar and like you said the final third shows that it can use more humidor time which is common with cubans. Sad to hear of the price increases. Good review Chris!
Hey Mike. Thanks for watching friend. I am sad about the price increases too. yes, I think these cigars can benefit from more time to hopefully work out the tannins and bring out the sugars and flavors.
@@HabanosChris not letting the cigars rest and get acclimated and moisture to dissipate majorly effects the flavor and overall performance. It's hard to access your review when you are smoking stuff when it first gets there after having been in multiple temps and climates.
@@MrPsiman hi I am well aware and I agree to some degree. As a matter of fact these were at stable 65 RH for 3 months before I smoke them. In this case I filmed me opening them then finished review 3 months later and smoked. However, I do differently each time and have actually sound that Cuban cigars smoke great often when you first open the box for about a week or two. Some of the most intense flavors. I am not the only one feels this way I’ve heard many others agree. It’s not unlike the inscription on the Raphael Gonzales boxes that says to the effect - cigars should be smoked within one month of the date of shipment or otherwise they should be carefully matured. I do age most of my Cubans at least three years and even longer in many cases when I can.
Hey -actually they had removed one of my videos that had about 5k views just last week. I know they had started to demonetized cigar videos/reviews. I thought they were going to tolerate unboxing like mine - the difference being I don’t smoke them on camera. But I am waiting for clarification.
Hey Matt! I do have a few Cohiba Robustos not quite ready to smoke though. Let me see what I can do. I like the idea. I was in fact actually thinking of reviewing a little more popular box for my next review- possibly something I already have aging. Hey Joseph - it’s not just about brand it can also depend on which cigar or vitola within any given brand as well. But here goes …. on the potentially pricier side; Hoyo de Monterey, Romeo y julieta H. Upmann, Montecristo, Ramon Allones, Quai Dorsay, On the more reasonable side Vergueros, Jose Piedra, Quintero. Hope this helps let me know if u have additional question or thought. Cheers
@@HabanosChris thanks for the reply! I actually got the partagas Mille fleurs from ihavanas. I Might end up picking up another box of something different at the end of the month depending on how my first experience go!
Yes I agree. Cuban flavor there which is nice. Perhaps, just not filled with a great blend. I have decided that I am going to age these for a good while. I’m shooting for 4-5 years of total age. I think they’ll improve - let’s see if they have any legs.
