Donald Vega - piano Payton Crossley - drums Jimmy Greene - tenor sax Ron Carter - bass I wish folks who post these videos would have the courtesy to post the names of the players. I'm grateful to Ron Carter for a lifetime of giving us his music.
In the Canary Islands there is a drink with many degrees, very good Rum, called Ron Carta de Oro. I hear Jazz Have 45 years and, for me, this man is Ron "Carter de Oro" (Letter from gold)
Mr Carter is 82 in this clip. Not only does he look forty, he has impeccable timing and a masters touch. He plays by feel. He rarely if ever looks at his feet board. If he does he realizes they àre getting lonely for his gaze. A true master
I never listen a perfect join between piano and the bass in a great soulnes harmony. For me the most beautiful sound in their performance. I heard it deep in my hard, Thank you
A VRAIE DIRE, CARTER EST UN ÉLÊVE DE RAY BROWN... UN STYLE GÉNIALE, DE MÉLANGER LES ACCORDS, LA MÉLODIE ET L'HARMONIE. TOUT CELA SOUS UN FOND DE LYRISM...!!! DIRECTEMENT DE SALVADOR = AUTOMN 2023.
This is spectacularly good, which is what I would expect from the great Ron Carter. Thank you, sir. Mr. Greene, Mr. Vega and Mr. Crossley are all quite excellent musicians, as well, but, I´m a non-professional bassist so I´m biased.
I'm so happy to be able to view the great Sir Ron Carter playing at his best. This distinguished gentleman and his quartet band are phenomenal. thank you for giving us traditional good music. God bless you. Is that your son playing along. He looks like you Mr. Carter.
Love this group! Hey is it my imagination or does Donald Vega bear a slight resemblance to the younger now dearly departed and former stablemate Cedar Walton? Or am i just having a flashback to the greatest piano trio I have ever heard in my life - Ron w Cedar and Billy Higgins- lot of gigs around New York late 80's maybe early 90's if I recall correctly. Just heard w Mike LeDonne tonight. Still the best RC!!!
Mr Carter, I know you're out there somewhere.... I just sampled some of this recording, mainly your solo. Im wondering if I have your blessing to make songs with these pieces.
