Ron Dayne was the most underrated running back in the NFL, his production time was based on terrible bias. Ron Dayne was productive when given the chance, he would have been great with the Giants and also the Broncos. Too bad the Broncos couldn't give him more playing time! They had a very good offensive line. I watched Dayne from his freshman year until his final year, he was one of the greatest college backs of all time! And would of been up there too in the NFL! Thanks for the memories!
I was at this game with my friend Pams. We're both Cowboys fans. However she didn't and still doesn't understand the game of football, lol. But she enjoys the games, the excitement of them. This was made evident when Dane took off down the sideline in overtime, she stood up yelling "Go! Go! Go! Go!" LOL. I had to pull her back into her seat saying whilst laughing "No Pams, we don't want him to go! He plays for the Broncos!" Thanks for posting this vid! Fun walk down memory lane! 😂🤣😅🤣😂😅😀👍
Dayne was a good running back in the NFL. Just because you win the Heisman trophy at the college level, your pro career shouldn't be considered a bust because you don't duplicate the exact same success at the next level.....after all, its the NFL, only a select few even make it to that point much less dominate. The average length of a NFL career is roughly 3 years; Dayne played for 8....that sounds like success to me. For 8 years he got paid to play football at the highest level, most people can't say that.
Ron Dayne was a game-time player. Unfortunately, he was a poor practice player. That's what cost him his job with the Broncos the next year in 2006. It turned out to be the Broncos' loss. They would have been better with him carrying the rock. He was a perfect fit for their zone-blocking one-cut running game.
Can you make a video about the Lions beating the Packers and Dre Bly was MVP I can’t find the highlights anywhere and that game is very sentimental to me.
Many Wisconsin backs are busts in the NFL. Badgers O Lines are too dominant and it hides weaknesses. All those O lineman look like they grew up wrestling cows on a dairy farm.
As evidenced by this game, he def didn't, was always underutilized & when he was the 1st option you saw what he accomplished early in his career w/ NYG
@@John_Connor556 So as reggie bush, he was drafted to the wrong team, like tj Duckett. As the saints already had McAllister. Sucks both careers aren't that memorable because they didn't get enough carries.
Ron Dayne even admitted in interviews that at Wisconsin he rarely read the playbook. The QB would tell him in the huddle if he was getting the ball and which way to run and that was that. It worked out well because of his natural talent and the huge holes the line opened up for him, But that fly by the seat of your pants style of playing does not cut it in the pros, you need to memorize and understand that playbook.
I remember watching that game when Ron Dayne went off. We all know that he won the Heisman Trophy in 1999, thus becoming an all time leading rusher in college football history by surpassing Ricky Williams, who set the record the season earlier and he won the Heisman Trophy. Pretty cool, is it?
Awesome awesome video for sure ps I’m a Miami dolphins fan would love for you to do a video on all of the dolphins QB LEADING UP TO THIS POINT FROM MARINO TILL NOW TUA HOW DID WE GET HERE TO THE AFC #1 SEED FOR THE FIRST TIME since 2008 and have not secured the No. 1 seed in the AFC playoffs since 1984
Ron Dayne was better suited for a zone running scheme. The Giants assumed, because he was 245lbs, that they could run a man blocking or power scheme with Dayne. He is similar to Derrick Henry in that he needs time to get to top speed, which the zone blocking scheme allows. We saw a glimpse of what could have been, in Denver and Houston, had he started his career in the right scheme.
Ron Dayne needed to lose weight and be utilized like a cutback runner and not the pure powerback the Giants tried to pigeon hole him into. I've heard he was used up A LOT in college
They should not have drafted him. Dayne would have been better off being drafted by a team that really needed a running back. The Giants had Tiki and they misused Dayne.
