And that Reagan actually did this. He was obsessed with movies during his presidency, and his staff would get him to pay attention by stringing together clips of stuff he needed to know for upcoming summits.
@@jcastro1129 said the pot to the kettle. The whole point is he's an actor hired into politics without a real answer. Dude ruined our economy to boot. Gave all the money to the oligarchs. Disgusting president. To think Noah Hawley's intention was to throw him a bone is outright comical
There are two types of people in this world. The first hears this and thinks of how inspiring this was and how Reagan really knew how to get through to people. The other type sees a man with real problems that can’t be solved by soundbites getting sold just that from a man he had respect for.
There are 2 types of people in this world, those that have confidence and belief in their ability to solve problems even if they don't have the solution yet, and those that don't even bother trying. The Reagan years were great, especially after the Carter disaster.
@@janandersen8735 There are 2 types of people in this world, those who were so bedazzled by Reagan's charisma and ego that they still believe his administration wasn't an absolute disaster for this country, and rational individuals.
@@aaronwimmers8904 He was such a disaster that he won 49 states when reelected. Booming economy, breaking the back of the Soviet Union. That must have hurt.
@@janandersen8735 He sold out the middle class to corporate interests, decimated the social safety net, instigated political unrest in South America for financial gain, leading to the death of thousands and poured billions into the military industrial complex. He sold out the future of this country and they worship him for it. What a joke.
@@jayp4114 such a moronic logic you have here. If a shitty president is called out for being shitty, what do you do? Talk about how current presidents are as bad? Well, perhaps that's the problem, don't you think? Or are your standards really that low?
@@jayp4114 The one right now can't even speak right to begin with, plus he doesn't even take questions at all, just smiles as his henchmen scurries the press away.
Weird. You are like the first person I've ever met in person or online that finds Reagan unlikable. He was very likable. Doesn't mean you have to agree with his politics but from all accounts he was a very likable guy. Maybe you should look in the mirror.
Bruce Campbell is far too good looking to be Ronald Reagan With that said this is the exact perfect interpretation of Ronald Reagan, as he was in the past
Most actors playing real historical figures don't look much like them. The craft is to capture the essence of the character: the body language, facial expressions, style of speaking, that convey the thoughts and personality of who you're playing.
Wow, you know nothing about history. He basically won the cold war, brought America back from a huge recession and terrible inflation, led an incredible decade economically and united America for 8 years (look at his election results). He was the greatest president in the last 50 years and it's not even close.
A response akin to "well that's a you problem" At the very least he practiced what he preached, the Merican people would have to solve his concern Which I don't mind if a leader would make an attempt to impart that. Jesus nominated a character for "best faith" on account understanding the power of word Had Reagan's character been more motivated by positive thinking in order to get him to see the big picture- this jingoism would hold power. But the light in him was darkness. Leaving the poor guy stranded to ponder hyperbole
I'm so glad scenes like this were incorporated into shows with famous actors playing the parts knowingly. This shows that Americans are capable of looking back at themselves and determining what is bs and not
It's a mix of not exactly knowing if he ran out of lines to say as a politician or if it's just one of those things you have to figure out yourself. Probably the former but you want to believe
Well allow me to explain a brief synopsis of Ronald Reagan was a actor/military veteran who became the 40th president of the United States in the 1980s he was a Republican party president who got 2 terms in the 1980s 1981/1989 during my childhood
@PlayNiceFolks nah, it's been 40+ years of "better than the other guy" politics. Its doubtful he even knows what Reagan would have done in the current climate or how if it would even differ from Biden.
I like Bruce Campbell, however: What a mischaracterization of Reagan and an awful impression of him. This just feeds into the strawman image of him that is not based in reality.
